Re: Scott Pilgrim
I'm fine with Micheal Cera too, but he always plays the same exact character. He needs change.

Re: Scott Pilgrim
Leonardo Dicaprio plays the same character every time, too, but that doesn't mean his acting isn't fun to watch. Michael Cera will have to play different parts once he gets older, he's still young enough that he FITS the parts they keep casting him for. Unless he ends up just sucking at acting in general, in which case once he grows out of it, he's done.

Re: Scott Pilgrim
If you think about it, very few actors don't play the same character every time. Hollywood isn't a small theater group where each player has to adapt to whatever role he is assigned. The very point of casting is to find the actor who best fits a role. Hollywood has literally everyone to choose from, so it's no surprise that they consistently pick certain actors who are the best at what they do.

I saw this movie. I thought it was extremely badass and hilarious.

Re: Scott Pilgrim
It was pretty awesome. Completely ridiculous and totally fun to watch. I love the comic book effects and all the video game noises. Never read the comic so I can't comment on how it compares.
Michael Cera's okay. I like vegan boy (aka Superman) better.
There was a great moment before the movie. There was a trailer for some horror/thriller movie and midway through the voiceover goes 'FROM M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN' and the entire theater groans. Then laughs.

Re: Scott Pilgrim
I LOVED this movie. Never before - and probably never again - will I see such a perfect synthesis of my geek and indie rockin' ideals. This is one I will buy and watch over and over. I thought that DEVIL movie looked somewhat interesting until "FROM M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN" popped up on screen. Too bad nobody booed in my theater, though.

Re: Scott Pilgrim
Also, as a kid, I never imagined that an American movie in wide release would ever include music from Zelda (or include so much geekiness in general).
It brings a tear to one's eye.

Re: Scott Pilgrim
I saw Scott Pilgrim during its midnight premier. Our crowd had the same reaction as Terra's to the M. Night movie.
This movie was fuaskchaskhfdgkhsdg so good. The only complaint I have, and it's kind of minor, is that the ending felt a little rushed, but then again, the fact that the whole movie had that rushed/wacky feel made it great. There were tons of game references, but my favorite was the River City Ransom coin gag. I loved it. I'm going to probably see this movie again this week. I didn't want it to end.
River City Ransom
Yes! I played the demo for the Scott Pilgrim video game. Glorious homages everywhere. The very first tunnel had a hidden mystery shop, just like the tunnel from RCR. Buying that as soon as I can.

Re: Scott Pilgrim
It's not a troll when I mean it. Scott Pilgrim is the bestest movie evur and he is a TOTEMO BAKA BILLYJIN FOR MAKING FUN OF IT ~=v_v=~ uguu. On another note, at one point in the movie, Scott Pilgrim wears a Mass of the Fermenting Dregs shirt. Thought that was kind of weird. Are they popular in Canada/the states? Didn't expect to see a shirt from a band from Japan in an American/Canadian movie. Edit: Herpderp, probably misread that shirt actually. Looked it up, couldn't find anything on it and someone mentioned that in that same scene it was a different band. Must've misread the part on the back of the shirt.

Re: Scott Pilgrim
Great movie, absolutely exceeded my admittedly high expectations.
Totally going to finish the books now.
