Re: Review: Delicious Bump'10 (San Francisco)
Aha yeah! You know, I'm surprised nobody joked about that yet. Really?... out of everyone ... Jun couldn't make it? And to think that the pillows were unable to play Swanky Street because they didn't have Jun Suzuki... I can't see any better opportunity to officially title him as the bass player of the pillows than that.
Yea, but if it was anyone other than Jun I don't think they would have played at all.

from what I heard, Jun was on the no fly list for whatever reason. Luckily the guest bassist knew all the songs.

I honestly can't tell if you're slow or just lightly trolling half the time.

Homeland security found out about how bad Jun has been sucking at bass and barred him from entering the US. Tatsuya Kashima has been granted diplomatic immunity, conversely. Obama loves him summa dat bass

I certainly hope so. If that photoshopping were any more obvious, it'd look like it was done in Paint.

Great job on the cover Taffy! It sounded amazing, I really loved it. Yoko would be so happy.

Very well done. What's your exact recording setup, anyway?

Re: Review: Delicious Bump'10 (San Francisco)
K guys, long story short, I had my guitar with me after the show. My band and I had to wait a long ass time for our ride, and a miracle happened during that time. Everyone had left by around 12:30am, so I was just playing my guitar and singing, and all the bands started leaving the venue. I spent some time shooting the breeze with Naofumi from monokuro, talking about guitars. I started absentmindedly playing "You Know You're Right" by Nirvana, and we just started singing! In fact, all of monokuro and a couple of the Pop Chocolat girls were singing along which was insane. I was talking to noodles' drummer about bands like The Stray Cats and Blankey Jet City, and she asked me if I knew Stray Cat Strut, so I played that, and we sang that too! I got a couple of pics (soon to come), with Naofumi and Pop Chocolat. Here's where it gets crazy. noodles recorded an album at a San Francisco studio in March, the studio where the pillows take gear from to play their CA shows (and rehearse befor Slim's nights), and the owner/engineer/producer was there along with the guy who organizes the Delicious Bump Tours. They called me over and talked to me, then the gave me their cards. I called the guy the next day and talked to him, we talked over the phone for a couple of days. He said he would do our first EP! We went to the studio two saturdays ago, and sure enough, there was the Blues Deville Sawao used, the Vox Pop Chocolat used, and the Marshall/HIWATT Stack Manabe used. I came. He talked to us at length, and showed us a sick track of noodles' new album due to be released in summer. We're preparing for the recording now. He said he wants to forward a copy to Delicious. I'm excited.
snip
I think that would probably be worthy of its own thread in the Music section.
