Ameagari ni Mita Maboroshi
Another song about the pillows' 20 years together.
JOOKU wa warau no ga reigi sa akireru na yo waratte yo kikiakiteiru to shitemo

=========================================
It's good manners to laugh at a joke Don't be shocked, laugh even if you're tired of hearing it
We came farther than we thought because we were only looking forward I've forgotten your face, but
We chose a path without footprints and walked down it Even if this childish dream is damaged, we're still looking at it now Yes, many times, together with you
Maybe everything will change We, who had approval, climbed the spider's thread
This era and scenery don't fit us We realized we were foreign bodies A dream of the mural we escaped*
We'll surely become rain and fall a thousand years from now We'll understand the sun I wonder if we'll be able to make a rainbow If it happens, it will probably be beautiful
Even when I lost my footing at a cliff's edge you grasped onto my hand Even now, I remember the illusion we saw after the rain We chose a path without footprints and walked down it Somewhere at the end of this wilderness our footprints surely remain That's the only proof that we lived That's our only pride
*I'm not sure on this line what he's actually trying to say, so I put my best guess. I'm a little rusty. DX

Re: Ameagari ni Mita Maboroshi
@Mare: A dream (that) slipped away from a mural/A mural's dream that has slipped away?
For everyone else: It's pretty weird. I think there's a certain connotation Japanese people must give to murals (probably that they represent perfection or a perfect life?) It probably means that Sawao felt like the perfect world he envisions, which is only captured in murals, does not exist and it is just a dream and that he/the pillows have realized it.

Hmm, maybe nukedashita is modifying "hekiga no yume" instead of just "hekiga," I didn't think of that. Either way though, it's still hard to figure out what he's saying with that line. DX

Re: Ameagari ni Mita Maboroshi
This song has some great lyrics. But what's up with that rainbow part?
I wonder if we'll be able to make a rainbow If it happens, it will probably be beautiful
the pillows consider themselves to be beautiful men.

im pretty sure he's referencing a rainbow the same way he references it in hybrid rainbow

A+
I'm reminded of Scarecrow just a little.

Re: Ameagari ni Mita Maboroshi
Is the passage on the single's cover an official translation of the song? "We still remember the vision we saw after the rain, the hybrid rainbow. We walked a long way on the roads where there was no footprint. Somewhere across this wild land there should be our footprints left on the field."

If you can call any of Sawao's terrible Engrish "official translations," then yes.

Very One Lifish :
No matter what shoes I put on, If I walk, I’ll leave footprints And if they stop some place, They’re the proof that I got that far One Life
but now he's talking in plural (I bet you already drew this paralel, though)

It's clearly not a translation of the song. If you're talking about a translation of the song TITLE, then still, it's not a translation of that either. It's flavor text that paraphrases in shitty English what's said in one of the choruses.
