Post Scott Pilgrim
TRAILER:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtKAfoIllbo

I really can't tell whether or not this is going to take one of my favorite comic books and turn it into shit, or be really awesome.

The Good:
Edgar Wright

The Bad:
Michael Cera

Thoughts?

Never heard of the comic book, but the trailer got me interested when I saw it a couple days back. Looks pretty amusing.

What's the matter with Michael Cera? Anyone who was on Arrested Development gets a free pass from me for the rest of their careers, so having two of them in one movie is like Juno all over again, except not complete and utter shit because due to a lack of interaction between the characters. Anyway, all I know is that this movie looks like shit, but I'll see it because of Michael Cera and Bland.

Honestly it looks about as good as Zombieland did from the trailers.

michael cera hasn't quite gotten to the point in his career where you can assume any movie he stars in is gonna blow, but he's getting there.
Of course he was funny in Arrested Development, but that was mainly due to the brilliant writing and the chemistry of the cast members. It's like expecting every member of a great band to be able to write good music on their own. In other words, Cera needs some good direction/writing behind him for an entertaining movie, just because he was on a good show doesn't mean everything he does will be even remotely good (see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist)

I liked Superbad though. You have to remember that any actor his age is going to be cast for as many shit movies as good ones, as well, simply because he's popular.

I think I was totally right about Anamanaguchi doing the music for the Scott Pilgrim video game.

Also I think they did the impossible and made Mary Elizabeth Winstead look not hot in the movie.

The Good:
Michael Cera

The Bad:
The fact that this looks even MORE hipsterish than your average Michael Cera movie.

Fixed. I don't even want to know what the soundtrack is going to be. This comic sounds ridiculous.

the comic is amazing, and the director of this movie did Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, so it should be great.

Michael Cera is neutral. probably won't hurt the film, but I can't see him adding much to it

On the contrary, I guarantee that 80 percent of the movie's value (i.e., revenue) will be derived from Michael Cera, 15 percent from the director's track record, and maybe 5 percent from people who have actually heard of Scott Pilgrim or who actually think this movie looks interesting.

The comics are pretty damn good. I can't wait for this movie. But I'm more excited for the game, with music by Anamanaguchi.

I'm fine with Michael Cera, as long as they cast him instead of Shia LaBeuff. That kid is overrated.

Zomg, this Friday!

Interactive trailer: http://www.geekosystem.com/scott-pilgri ... e-trailer/

Kinda silly... I ended up clicking like crazy and not really paying attention to the trailer itself.

This looks pretty cool. Never heard of the comic or anything but I'll probably go see it this weekend.
