Re: the pillows 2010 US Tour!!!
First time I saw them I was in the front row Manabe's side, and I was next to Mare. They let the girls go in first too. I had my girl save me a spot but I was also pretty close to the front of the line so it does help to get there early.

Re: the pillows 2010 US Tour!!!
In my experience, people weren't nearly as, well, rabid until the pillows came out, so you generally have time during the openers (especially if they aren't good) to worm your way near the front. Once the pillows came out, everyone would start to crowd toward the stage more.
Just please, please, don't hold your arm out obstructing other peoples' view for several minutes so you can take what will be a completely crappy video with your camera/camera phone.

True. But I have a hard time imagining that MyFoot got past a line stretching for two and a half city blocks worth of rabid pillows/FLCL fans without irritating a good deal of them. Crowds shift, expand, and contract, but moving through that many people basically necessitates you stepping on a few toes.
Ah, well that's where you were diverted....I don't think I need to specify how not everybody sprinted to the stage to get to the front. There were many that did, however, factoring in the large amount of people who went to the merchendise stand, hit the bar, went to sit in the seats above, and the ones who stood around in their respective groups of aquaintances socializing, it is much easier to see how I succeeded in my endavor.

Re: the pillows 2010 US Tour!!!
When we got into the SF show last year, there was literally nobody taking spots in front of the stage, everybody was lined up for merch, so we whipped out some badass division of labor: I got merch, the gf held us a spot right the fuck in front of what we knew would be Manabe's mic later on that night.
And as for maneuvering to get a better spot, I hate that shit. If there's available space to move in, that's one thing, but what generally happens is you get assholes attempting to push you aside to move themselves closer despite there simply not being room for them. I hope these people die in a fire, because they're the reason my fucking camera got broken. I had it in my pocket for easy use, and fuckers pushed me against the stage trying to squeeze into a better position - it's worth noting that I was standing behind my girlfriend letting her have the directly-in-front-of-the-stage position so that she wouldn't get crushed by such assholes but still manage to enjoy the experience...needless to say I pushed the fucker right on back where he came from, but that doesn't change that said assholery cost me a digital camera. So seriously, kids, get the best AVAILABLE position, and take openings as they come, but if you push people aside trying to move up, you are going to piss people off.
Japanese fans seem to use the more polite strategy that I prefer, according both of my pillows concert experiences over there (though crowds at rock festivals are a different beast).

Re: the pillows 2010 US Tour!!!
^You speak the truth. I have no problem with ymself or others sneaking in to an open spot to get closer, but don't just be like "Excuse me, excuse me!" and bowl everyone down. I plan on getting to the show several hours early anyways, so I plan on getting up front finally at a concert for the pillows.

Re: the pillows 2010 US Tour!!!
I remember that show, so many people were shoving us around. I had to protect my girlfriend from the shitstorm of assholes trying to find a better spot. It was worth all the effort in the end. Hey Mare do you think there is a possibility we can catch the band before or after the show? I remember having to break away from my spot to get autographs last time. And I barely made it back. I had to leave my girl too which worried me. Everyone from IM should form a front row group, and not give away our spots to anyone. That and we should get there around 5pm or so. Mare do you remember the time you got there last time?

@Goshin: people that push through don't say "excuse me," they just shove the fuck through and pretend they don't notice the pissed off people around them.
@Brye: no clue on what time we got there, but we were a good half a block or better down the line, and only because TYMT and some other people recognized me from the forum and had my join them in line lololol.

Assholes will actually try to be polite when trying to steal a spot ahead of you. One concert, caught me totally off guard. Another time, two dudes are saying "Excuse me, Excuse me" during the break between opening and main acts, I hear them coming, and I told them to back the fuck off. Then the politeness stopped of course while a bunch of expletives rained down on me, but I made sure not to budge anymore, and they made there way off to the left side somewhere. On a happy note, just got my tix in the mail today for the show at The Glass House! How did go on the '08 tour as far as autographs and meeting the band? I know in '06 at Chicago, we all just walked up to them while they were packing up their gear. Camio can attest to that. I believe he got his copy of WI signed, and me, my copy of PML. 'Twas an awesome night. Hopefully it'll be that easy again.

Hm, I guess I haven't encountered any polite assholes yet. Lucky for me, haha.

Re: the pillows 2010 US Tour!!!
So, They're only going to play California? That's pretty lame. I'd totally be down to make the trip out there, but seeing as how I need about $2,500 by August for school and my band's tour, there's no way I'm going to be able to afford the trip. Especially working a job that only pays $7.50/hr. :/

No he isn't.
Federal minimum wage is $7.25, and like most states, Nebraska's minimum wage is the same as the federal rate.

Federal minimum wage is the absolute minimum. States are free to set one that's higher. Most states have minimum wages set equal to the Federal one... I think a few states don't have a minimum wage law, though believe have to the federal one wherever it's applicable.
Hell, cities/counties can set higher minimum wages if they want. It's actually higher in San Francisco than it is in the rest of the state :P
