 Re: What are you playing?
I'm liking Final Fantasy XIII so far. The characters were very annoying at first... but I'm growing more used to them.

 Re: What are you playing?
FFXIII looks kind of lame to me, I don't know why. I guess I should play it before I knock it, but it just doesn't seem appealing.

 Re: What are you playing?
Megaman 10! Four RMs yesterday, four today, I stopped at Wily Fortress just a while ago. The robot masters were the right amount of challenge. I'd say the easiest fight is Blade Man. I don't even know their weaknesses because I wanted to muscle them all down with the buster gun right from the get go. The levels themselves have their difficult moments but I personally loved the tricky spots. There's always sissy mode that lays down bridges for you if you can't handle the deathtraps. The shop prices are pretty low for items, get some extra lives before you go and you really shouldn't have any problems. Level you don't want to pick first (Like I did): Strike Man Frustrating mid-bosses, check. Loads of cheap damage enemies, check. RM with an erratic jumping pattern and an unpredictable weapon, check.

So far I definitely enjoyed X and XII more. The battle system is cooler than both of those other games though. The plot beats out XII's, but X's plot is much more imaginative. I think XII and XIII are going to end up being "good" or "ok" in my book. No where near the awesomeness of my Shadow Hearts II!
EDIT: And the music... somewhat of a improvement from XII, but I don't think FF has had very good music since X.

Tidusaurus's statement makes perfect sense, since Uematsu (who was basically responsible for anything involving Square and good music) left in 2004.

 Re: What are you playing?
Aplaca: That song would be great if it wasn't for the singing. The vocal seem like they'd distract too much and kind of take away from the rest of the song. At least for me, the instruments don't sound "heavy" enough to warrant screaming/growling. Especially since, at least from this youtube quality, the vocal track seems like it was recorded poorly and thrown on top of the rest of the music. Sheer: Uematsu is going to be composing all the music for XIV.

 Re: What are you playing?
It's better, but the Engrish is a bit distracting. Much more vocally appealing, though.

 Re: What are you playing?
After they made it much easier to level up, FF11 became fun. For me, FF11 felt a lot more like what an MMORPG should feel like than WoW. I met cool/nice people 90% of the time and the rest of the 10% consisted of one German player who refused to speak in English despite me asking him politely in German, a few rude Japanese players who hated us BAKA GAIJINZ, and the occasional ridiculous FF fanboy/girl. I love WoW, but for me, it's more of a game I play to have fun with friends/have some fun with PvP. When I played FF11 (I didn't get too far, but I got to one of the "worst" parts of the game: leveling in the Dunes,) I felt like I was in a completely different world. In WoW, there's times where I can get pretty into it, mainly in PvP, but when I do PvE, I just feel like I'm trying to hit the next level when I'm soloing, which is 90% of the time since everyone is level 80 already. When I played FF11, I was a red mage, and it was pretty awesome finding buddies on a link shell who'd be willing to level sync with you and kill shitloads of random dune monsters. There wasn't much quest-related stuff, which sucked, but after a while, I stopped treating FF11 as a "I MUST GET TO THE NEXT LEVEL" type of deal and started to enjoy the world itself. I played it before and after they made it easy to level up. Before they made it easy to level up, I have to say, it was a great game other than the ridiculous grind. Afterwards, though, it became solid and really fun. I'm looking forward to FF14 because it's going to be gear dependent and I think a bit "easier" so that they can appeal to more of a market other than extremely patient Japanese grinders, like the original FF11 was like. Plus, FF11's world looks awesome even with shitty graphics, I can't wait to see how FF14 looks.

 Re: What are you playing?
I noticed card games in the trailer.
Fingers crossed for the return of FF8's triple triad.
