 Re: Newer J-Bands Anyone?
ART-SCHOOL happens to be one of my favorite bands, though they're far from new. Ogre You Asshole is a solid recommendation as well.
In the range of really new stuff, COLD KITCHEN is pretty tight, they released their first album to actually be sold in stores just this past summer.

 Re: Newer J-Bands Anyone?
Gonna suggest avengers in sci-fi ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VB3pFtiH1NU), school food punishment ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6COug_sqohc), and VOLA & THE ORIENTAL MACHINE ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPN6Rfb8vpA) for those who like shoegaze/electro/new-wave rock. Also gotta mention 8otto ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8G1CWRvPmSc) and SCOOBIE DO ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzVA7e7ahh0) for funk rockers. Also kinda surprised Fujifabric ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfZNw0-S5B8) wasn't mentioned already.

 Re: Newer J-Bands Anyone?
Ogre You Asshole is a great band, definitely something everybody here should at least try, and hopefully end up following.

 Re: Newer J-Bands Anyone?
I second Mare's suggestion. Also: Radwimps are a good band. Sometimes they sound a bit like ELLEGARDEN, but their guitarist is definitely more skilled.
