Re: Artist you're currently listening to. Steely Dan. I may be wrong, but I think if you like Living Field and Kool Spice, you'd also like Steely Dan.
It's very calm, smooth, harmonic, laidback .. . at least that's my experience.
And I'm still listening to The Pillows of course, I just keep discovering and rediscovering them.

Yeah, most (but not all) of their stuff is definitely along those lines. Also, in general, Steely Dan's music is much more heavily jazz-influenced than anything from Kool Spice or Living Field: it's bona fide jazz fusion.
Personally, I highly recommend Aja. It's probably my favorite Steely Dan album, and it's a great one to check out if you're a fan of the pillows' jazz-influenced stuff.
