I'm actually digging OOPARTS. Its nothing earth shattering but nothing since TYMT has been. There's some cool musicianship showing off on this album that I think has been lacking for a while. There are some songs that are a real blend between some old sounds and new sounds, Dance With God, Primer Beat!

I'm going to force them away from Pro Tools next time though, I can't take it anymore hahahaha

Wait, what? I'd put both Penalty Life and My Foot on equal ground with TYMT, and the most recent albums have had some earth-decimating songs, like "Scarecrow" and "Ladybird Girl."

What? Aside from being the premiere professional studio recording program, the choice of recording software doesn't significantly affect the final product. Furthermore, what are you going to do about it? Write them an angry letter and threaten them with death?

LONESOME DIAMOND....that song needs more attention.

So a funny thing happened: two days after I first listened to Ooparts, I got sick of it. It's just so…bland and unremarkable in almost every way. Even my opinion of Primer Beat kinda dropped after a few more days. I don't think I've ever gotten tired of an album this quickly before.

There are countless ways I could describe the song Ladybird Girl, but "earth-decimating" would probably be the very last one.

So, if I've only listened to Penalty Life and Pied Piper from the 00s stuff, what am I supposed to expect? I love Penalty Life, but Pied Piper, despite having some lovely, catchy tunes, doesn't really light my candle. Too basic, too straightforward.

No, what I meant is that what am I supposed to expect from Ooparts if I have only listened to two albums from the 00s, since I consider the 90s and 00s two completely different periods for the pillows. Is it another Pied Piper, or something a bit different, like Penalty Life?

You might be pleasantly surprised by a few songs, namely Lemon Drops, Beyond the Moon, and Johnny Strobe (and possibly Your Order if you dig the quirky guitar lines), but don't go in expecting everything to be worth your while.

The album is worth a download. Its nice to hear something that has more refreshing and new.

What's the risk in downloading an album anyway? If you don't like it, then you just delete it.

Hey, as they say, time is money. And Ooparts isn't really what I would call a good investment in either regard.
