I was also surprised for the Return of the Jedi Off topic: I watched that a couple of nights ago and it was really nice.
Beyond the Moon- it has an UNBELIEVABLE Bass intro.
Holy shit, you mean they did a string of root notes?
Journey Strobe
Johnny Strobe, get it right.
Primer Beat- I completely agree with Mare with the whole one-two punch thing with LIFE SIZE and Primer Beat.
I didn't even say that, why are you constantly misquoting things and attributing them to me? Overall: Your review made me like the album less by association.
Life-size life LEADS INTO Primer Beat, it actually seems like a one-two punch to close the album.
Sorry Mare, I was looking at your avatar when I was reading that and just assumed you wrote that. Sorry bro, my mistake. And I wrote Journey Strobe because I was too lazy to rewrite what I thought of each song so I copied my old post when the first clips came out. My bad, thats when we were all confused at what the title was. I'll go ahead and edit my post, sorry about that Mare.

Re: New Album 10.14.09-Ooparts
lol that was mine. I'm not really digging life size, though, it was merely an observation on play-times and the way life size ends and Primer starts seemed peculiar at the time.
^oop, he got to it first.
Going to go yes and no here, do it the quick and easy way.
Dance with God - yes Your Order - no, almost yes Melody - no Lemon Drops - yes Foxes - no Beyond the Moon - yes Johnny Strobe - yes Ameagari - yes, almost no Life Size Life - no Primer Beat - yes
Sorry Sawao, 6/10 = 60% You failed. :3

Re: New Album 10.14.09-Ooparts
two things I'll throw in: Dance With God's chorus sounds really really weirdly recorded. Way too much reverb, distortion, echo, bending, weird shit. Sounds like Number Girl's School Girl Distortional Addict.
2) Manabe is on fire in Primer Beat. Jazz-days throwback. Some of the most enjoyable stuff he's done in the past few years.

Re: New Album 10.14.09-Ooparts
Haven't gotten a chance to listen to the album yet, but I thought I'd go ahead and throw in my two cents regarding YOUR ORDER and Lemon Drops. Definitely boarded the late train here (and perhaps the failboat too?), but all you have to do is take my post and, in your mind, place it five pages back. Cool? Alright. I was frankly bored by YOUR ORDER. In fact, I listened to it about a week ago, and it was so unremarkable that I barely even remember the song now. Lemon Drops actually turned out much better than I expected, even though I already thought it was going to be a good song. Funny, as the snippet from the preview sunk in more, I began to feel that the chorus was rather bland and underwhelming. I still consider the chorus to be, musically, the weakest aspect of the song, but I was pleasantly surprised by the rest of the song being kickass. Even the egregious Engrish wasn't that much of a problem for me, in general. Also, hearing all the positive stuff about Primer Beat is really making me excited to finally hear this song. Throwback to the old jazz days? HELL. YES.

Re: New Album 10.14.09-Ooparts
I gave the album a cursory listen, and I would give all the songs a "yes." However, while some are obviously more "yes" than others, and some very "yes" indeed, there really weren't any songs that were "FUCK YES," (yet, of course) whereas I could instantly find at least one (and I have, often several) on every other album, with the exception of perhaps Living Field.

Yeah Orochi, Your Order is somewhat unremarkable and an odd choice for the PV. I feel like it was trying to be a Pied Piper 2 of sorts. I'm glad you liked it so far, sheer. Why isn't Johnny Strobe four minutes long? I'm ok with Foxes waning like that but damn...

Re: New Album 10.14.09-Ooparts
I don't know about that, I remember in high school it was A = 93%-100%, B = 85-92, C = 76-84, D = 70-75, E/F 0-69. Maybe it's different in different regions?
I'm mostly teasing about the "score", though. Still, it seems to me that some of these songs could fall off the face of the earth and I wouldn't mind, and some I will enjoy for quite some time.

Thats how your school graded? What the fuck? The way we scored in High School was that if you had an A=100-90% B=89-80% C=79-70% D=69-60% And below 60% was an F
C is a passing grade in High School, and a D is a passing grade in High School too. Well at least at the school I went to.

Re: New Album 10.14.09-Ooparts
My high school was similar to C1's. Such is the standard by which men are measured.
As such, a 70 would be a D-, or the lowest possible score before "failing."
Anyway, the college scale was basically Brye's scale, but since getting the equivalent of a less-than-C-average GPA would preclude you from graduating (or possibly get you kicked out?), it was effectively the same. A 70 would be the lowest possible score before "failing."
