Brye, knock the double and triple posting off.
Yeah I noticed that too and so I went back to do an edit before I made a new one. Sorry, I should really read through all of the posts before posting and then write what I have to say. My bad, I've been picking one post at a time then going back. I'll stop this bullshit right here and now.

Yeah, if you have more to say, just edit the original post. Thanks.

Re: New Album 10.14.09-Ooparts
Is he saying "she makes me excited many times" in Lemon Drops?
Also, while I get the whole respect for the original member thing, I really wish Jun would have been on the cover or something at least. He's been their bass player for ten years now. Almost longer than the other two put together. He deserves some of the spotlight, I think.

Speaking of how they sound as a genre and what, I think that the pillows around the living field and White Incarnation sounds a lot like the Smiths http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3hSDODDNs4

Except that Sawao will never be as good a singer as Morrissey lol.
JOMEI used Swords Dance. JOMEI's attack greatly increased.
GOSHIN used Iron defense. GOSHIN's defense sharply rose.
Overall though, it does seem like these songs are a bit too passable like what was said before and yeah, we can't tell what these songs will sound like until we hear good quality and the rest of each song. I'm hoping that this album will be a good one, I'll enjoy it even if its a good or bad album. These songs were most likely rejected songs that couldn't make it to albums from the past, and were now decided to be put on a new album when they have nothing to loose.
What are you talking about? Why would they be rejected songs? Who knows, maybe 1 or 2 are from the Pied Piper era, but all of them? These are new songs from new sessions. You gotta realize, the pillows release studio albums at a rate way faster than Western artists. So a lot of the music Sawao writes is going to show up on official releases. So no, they're not rejected songs, but releasing so many songs in short amounts of time could possibly dilute the quality of said songs. But that's a different discussion entirely.

Re: New Album 10.14.09-Ooparts
You gotta realize, the pillows release studio albums at a rate way faster than Western artists.
Eh, perhaps modern artists are slow (I don't really know/care much about modern Western rock), but a lot of popular Western artists have released albums at the same rate as the pillows (about one album per year). Some examples off the top of my head: in their prime, the Beatles, Rush, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Queen were all releasing albums at about the same rate. Irrelevant to this discussion? Maybe. Just wanted to point that out, though. Personally, from the previews, I don't think the album sounds rushed or like it was made from outtakes or something. It just sounds…mediocre. As in, plain-old mediocre songwriting.

Re: New Album 10.14.09-Ooparts
Dance with God: Sounds interesting, but not very impressive. Then I heard Sawao yell "DANCE WITH GOD," I couldn't help but go WTF. That sounded horrible. Hopefully the rest of the song is better. YOUR ORDER: I'm liking the instruments and energetic feeling the song gives off. Lemon Drops: Sounds alright, I think it has potential to be pretty good. Foxes: Beyond the moon: I can't stand songs that say "I love you." It... isn't creative. Or interesting. And whats with the yelling? AAAARHGH SOOOO MUCH EMOTION. A song doesn't have to be yelled at the top of your lungs to be emotional, Sawao. JOHNNY STROBO: Boring. Maybe the full song will be better, but I'm not holding my breath. LIFE SIZE LIFE: I wish Sawao wouldn't write any more songs fully in Engrish. I can't even concentrate on the music because the lyrics are so awkward and distracting. PRIMER BEAT: Now this sounds good, definitely my favorite on the album so far. I'm looking forward to hearing this track in full. --- I was hopeful that this album would be good after listening to Amegari, but I'm let down again. So far this looks likely to be my least favorite album.

...Foreigner... ...I think it will rain...
Two awesome songs you should not go without. Foreigner is straightforward amazing. Ame Ga Futtekita You Ki Ga Suru is just as great, but it's a little more subtle about it. It's humble. Foreigner is just so in-your-face, and Ame Ga Futtekita has that twin guitar thing Sawao tried so hard with in Good Dreams done twice as well.
Well said. Seriously, Moon gold was some of their best work.

Not to get into the whole "your preference is wrong" debate, but if we're saying that Moon Gold was some of their best work, and that My Foot was great, and that Wake Up was pretty good, and that Pied Piper was even better, and that Penalty Life is seriously underrated and in fact a really good album...then what's the WORST pillows album for you guys? You have to have a worst, or least favorite album.
The train of Happy Bivouac > Little Busters > Please Mr. Lostman > Runners High > Living Field > ...etc, has to end SOMEWHERE.
