Just reflecting, its really surprising that the pillows momentum hasn't decreased, but has increased! i mean they've been around for so long, and they keep on going!

Same here—I didn't really notice he was singing during my first listen-through either. Second time around, though, I was like, "Aww yeah, there he is."
So anyway, my thoughts: actually, I didn't really care for it at first, but after a few listens, I found it irresistibly catchy. Sure you could call it shallow, but as is the case with a lot of (good) pop, I consider it one of those mindlessly fun songs that you can just turn your brain off and listen to for the hell of it.
Musically, I thought the bassline was full of much win, but as a drummer, I have to admit that I felt a little disappointed. (Then again, considering that it [i]is[/i] supposed to be a pop song, I shouldn't really expect much in that regard…)
