Did anyone else see this on IM's main page? I did a quick check and it looks like it's already up for preorder on CDJapan and most other online stores. The first single will be Ameagari ni Mita Maboroshi, out on 9/2/09.

Cool. I kind of hope that they break from this sort of "nostalgia wave" they've been on this year. Don't get me wrong, I like most of what they've done with all the covers and re-releases, but I want to see them continue to blow everyone away with new material like they have done for 20 years.

Pied piper hardly "blew me away." I'm liking this pseudo return-to-the-roots approach, I just hope they don't get too comfortable re-selling old work.

This is a NEW ALBUM. It's all new shit.

And new work is good, I'm as excited as you are for the new album. What I was saying before is that one of the things that distinguishes these guys from a great majority of the bands out there is their ability to put out new albums, year in and year out. It's gone on for so long now, it's almost an expectation for me that there will be a new pillows album after the turn of each year. In fact, since I started following these guys in 2003, there hasn't been consecutive years where they didn't put out a new CD, except for the time period between Good Dreams in 2004 and My Foot in 2006.

I'm not really that dissatisfied. It's just that I will for sure purchase a new album, as opposed to covers of songs I already have. The new best-ofs do an excellent job of promoting the pillows to their newer fans and ever-growing fanbase, however, and that's something that Avex has done a fantastic job with.

Does anyone have any further information relative to the length of this CD? Was the tracklisting released a week ago the full length or will we indeed get an 11 song album?

Album art looks legit and the track list looks amazing, can't wait to buy this when I go to Japan.
