lol now you see what I'm talking about. It's not the videos with like a small spike in views, that happens from time to time, it's the ones that are getting 30 or so a day and then get 400 or more out of nowhere. Cheating FUCKS.

EDIT: Here's what I propose. Cheating is GOING to happen by some of these fuckers, and there's nothing we can do about it. What we CAN do is watch the real top 20 videos to give them support and keep them where they belong. If everyone on IM views IMer videos that are in the top 20 once or twice a day, it should add enough views to keep them competitive.

IM should band together in times of need. This is a good idea. Still, I don't know if we can stand a chance against people who get 1/4 of the views they need to get to be in the top 20 in one fucking day. I'll watch all of the videos regardless... but I think Charmface is safe.

The only problem is that the people who are viewspamming seem to know what they're doing (for the most part, there's one video that has had its viewcount frozen over and over again over the past weeks, that shitty "acoustic medley" one, lol). That humpbackshack carnival video has magically gained an average of 400 or so views out of nowhere the last several days, and is now just a scant 200 or so from getting into the top 20. :/

If you use a proxy server and adequate anonymous/elite proxies, then you can hide your IP from youtube, and fool the system into thinking that your computer is from new each time you view your video. Everytime you change proxies, your computer connect through a new IP, and youtube can't tell that it's the same person.

So if you're a real fucktard you just watch your video a whole bunch of times from different fake IPs until you get the amount of views you want.

Example: that humpbackshack carnival cover is obviously cheating. If you take a look at http://pillows20th.web.fc2.com/ and check out how its views have grown, you'll notice that they very carefully slipped it right up into the top 20 with some rather large (but decreasingly so each day) view increases. The videos submitted around the same time as it have only 300 to 700 views, and even the best ones from that couple days barely pushed past 1k.

I will be supporting you guys, like Mare has said. I will also be watching the Orange Film Garden cover, because it's my personal favorite non-IM cover.

But seriously, these cheaters are really a bunch of dicks, and the pillows should judge the contest by the quality of the video. It would be a real shame if one of the shaky-cam second rate covers wins this contest.
