sorry to say but the acoustic strange chameleon and the solo hybrid rainbow are the only ones even close to winning. i thought that ureshii's shoegaze might have had a chance by its sheer production value and its uniqueness in the crowd, but then another group did the exact same thing to another song so... that probably knocked them out

The top twenty being determined by views is probably not that bad of an idea. It doesn't seem like anyone is cheating, so the best are getting the views (for the most-part).

The cool thing is, there are five groups going to Budokan (one first prize, four second prize winners).

That means there's room for a total copy cover (one of those in-club vids would work, if any of them had good vocals), a total rearrangement (Tidus, Solo Hybrid Rainbow, Girls Don't Cry) and for a straight up cover that isn't extreme in one direction (Mare/GR).

My initial reaction to the TYMT video is to hate it. But now I'm sort of coming around on it, because it's just so totally abstract and awful and dissonant and obnoxious and different. The artist, lemoned42731, just don't give a fuck. Props to him.

IM has no idea what is coming, when our cover is up everyone will be suprised.

The problem with going by views is that anyone late into the game - even Mare and GR - are at a grave disadvantage. Some people have jobs and lives and don't have the time to churn out a masterpiece in two weeks.

I think GR and Mare are doing a good job of catching up. They're over 700 views on their second day. If their pace continues, they'll be in the safe zone before the end of the week.

hm i checked early on and hadn't seen a lot of these... my money is still on acoustic hybrid for having over 6 times as many views as anyone else... hahaha. his is also the only one i've watched multiple times... it's damn good.
