Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
I wasn't feeling Flag Star either. Maybe after hearing the whole song, I might think different.

So Flag Star's pretty sweet. I really like this setlist too.

Yeah, I really like the singing in the intro, and all of the parts similar to it, including Manabe's solo.

Thank you! Downloading now. I'm really enjoying FLAG STAR. I didn't like it when I heard the sample clip, but it blends in with their older stuff rather well.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
After listening a few times, my take on Flag Star is greatly improved. The vocals are kind of crazy, but it's a nice shouty song. Still, not my favorite... that's for sure.

Same goes for me, Flag Star was a little but after listening to it a couple of times, it grew on me. I like it, but it isn't one of my top favorites. I do enjoy the vocals in Flag Star

FLAG STAR sounds like something out of a Dragonball ED.
Needless to say, I love it

This song blows anything on Pied Piper out of the water baby! They should have thrown this on Good Dreams.

I think I heard a synth in the chorus. Flag Star is Solo sounded like FOTP and TYMT solos had a baby, with sawao shouting YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Whole song is just an explosion of pillows goodness. The vocal melody is addictive.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
Flag Star is pretty awesome. It definitely could have fit on Good Dreams and easily taken the place of quite a few songs I think. However, I did hear the song was from the Penalty Life era. So that means we now have one of the two unreleased songs (that we know of) from that era, the other being Bokudake no Monalisa.
The thing is, that this is a full band, fully produced song. It's not a demo. that makes me wonder how many other songs are sitting around in the pillows' vault, completely produced and finished and have not seen the light of day. I mean, practically no one ahd heard of this song before, and it just came out of nowhere. There's bound to be more in the vault, and I just wish there was some way we could find out what exactly we're missing out on.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
Whomever wins this contest...its your duty to ask the band to get their old/new label to release a new demo collection featuring tracks like this. Or how about a little less demanding question.....say guys, just how many demos DO you have lying around in the vault? Shit, you release around 15 songs a year, but how many more haven't we heard?

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
How do we know it's from that time period? Did they play it on tour or something? If this had been on Penalty Life, the album would be a LOT better, I think. Also, was this really a recording from then? It sounds a lot more like they (re-)recorded it for this compilation to me.
Either way, good song. I may just like this better than 1989.
