Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
Where do you live Norbert? Do you live close to SF or Walnut Creek, San Jose area? Sure you could play bass if you really want to! The more people we have the better the chance of making a good cover.

Ha, not even close. I was thinking I'd just send a video for my part, and we'd just duct tape it together with WMM or something and upload it, and then on the off chance we won, we'd actually bother to meet in person.

Thats still good, we could use you for a bass, but it would work better if you were with us. You might want to help with others on the bass part. My friend will more than willing to play bass for me, he doesn't listen to the pillows but he is a great bassist. Its just more convenient for me TYMT because we live close to eachother. Thanks for you offer though!!!

I'm probably going to be doing the contest with a 2 or 3 man group. There's gonna be piano, guitar in vocals. Keeping it simple, I think I must have some sort of shot at this thing!

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
After further review of the rules, I'm going to simply go solo on this one! Play by myself on piano and sing "One Life". I'll have to transpose down about 8 half-steps, but I think my voice sounds really cool in the lower register. Anyways, I'm going solo! Wish me luck! Also, good luck with "Tonight" for Marekenshin and GR. Hopefully at least two groups from here will make it, and I'll see you at Boudokan!

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
Hey, I remember some IM members are from Chicago, floating around here somewhere. I'm proposing a chicago IM entry, I've got pretty strong vox and rhythm guitar chops and I manage a lead here and there. I wanna try a simple music video thing to go with it. I have some friends that could help us out filling in instruments/filming that might do it just to add it to their portfolio.
send me a pm or email me at "c a m i o x (at) l i v e (dot) c o m"
if nothing else we could convince em to not skip Chicago on their next tour like they did on the last.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
That's actually a good idea, anyone here who can play fairly well live close to San Diego, CA? I'd love to find actual fans of the pillows who live around me and could participate with me in the contest.

I'm not feeling Flag Star at all.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
I meant to post the preview, but I had forgotten which of the sites selling the CD had it. Do we know if Flag Star is new or just unreleased until now? It doesn't really sound like anything else of theirs, so I can't place what era it would be from. Really wish the preview would include the chorus. I really don't know what to think of the song until I've heard it all.
