I'm using Ryu and Gen (sometimes Chun-Li too). Surprisingly, in this game I think they managed to make Ryu a legit skillful character. Ken on the other hand is just a jerk.

I was planning on using Chun but it turns out I kinda suck with her on 4, haha. So far, I'm doing pretty good with Blanka and Ryu. Blanka especially against non-shoto characters. It's ridiculous how my friend was kicking my ass when I was Chun and he was Zangief, but as soon as I switch to Blanka, he's raging at me for winning 3 times in a row.

I'm a bit bummed though. I originally reserved the limited edition copy, but I had to withdraw the funds for school and I couldn't pay for it again until all the limited edition copies had sold out .

The limited edition isn't really THAT cool. I mean, you get a toy a book and two extra discs. If you really like toys and a guide that really not that big of a deal. Just mentions the characters and their moves. You already get that in the game. Then there is the "Art gallery" basically still images of in game fighting.

I was playing as dhalsim earlier ago. I must say he is REALLY weak in this game. They have made him real slow and his move do little damage. I didn't have trouble using zangief. Or balrog! Yet dhalsim pisses me off!

I'm really surprised/pissed at how slow they made Chun Li, but Sakura is more than enough to make up for it.

So my roommate just got the game; it's pretty solid. I still prefer a 2D art style myself, but the game is really good. As predicted, I mostly use Ken and Dhalsim. Throws are easier to execute. All the new characters are kinda lame though.

You can actually use Dhalsim without struggling? I use to use him before but now he just sucks. I don't mind the 3d thing. Looks pretty cool, and it's kinda lame that in the "meet your rivals" You mostly just fight the new characters. Abel is cool, C.Viper sucks though her hair eww.... The wrestler is alright. The fat guy is meh.

I was at the gamestop SF4 tournament today, and there was some epic competition. I got into the second bracket, and lost by a hair to a 12 year old kid, who thought I was his best opponent ever. We exchanged gamertags and I made a bunch of friends there. All good fun!

I think some of her other areas make up for it. I like the fact that her moves still seem to flow together like in 3S. I was able to do just keep the opponent on their feet in 3S by switching up my buttons in a pattern I'd make on the spot, like c.RH, Fierce, Medium Punch, etc. but then throw it up (all my friends complimented me because I was pretty unpredictable. If they got me with the right tactics, they'd kick my ass, but I was decent.)

Anyway, a pretty good move I got from the challenges room with Chun is to jump in with her target combo, follow up with a c.Fierce punch, then do a c.RH. Then, what I like to do on wakeup is the first time around, do her downforward c.RH (the flip), do that the second time, then do a c.RH or a throw then on the next wakeup switch to the one you didn't do, and finally maybe space yourself and do that one move where she does kind of like a flip sommersault across the screen kick. Also, if your opponent is one of those guys who uses focus attacks when you're on wakeup, spam lightning kick or, if you have her ultra ready, do that right on wake up and it'll spam lightning kick for you and BAM, they fall into your ultra. Another good time to use that is when you're middle-far screen area, not all the way, but close, and your Shotokan fiends try to use hadouken on you, do her ultra and it should jump passed the fireball and land right in them.

Chun is not as good as she was in 3S, but she's still good enough to use her as your main, imo. I still love her.

How is El Fuerte lame? He's fucking awesome and hilarious. Same with Rufus. C. Viper is pretty sexy/cool, imo. Abel, though, is eh. I like his story a little bit, but not much.

El Fuerte is alright. Rufus is a loud, fat sack of crap and C.Viper is your basic, hackneyed "sexy assassin" character, although her little boob-separator tie thing is amusing. Abel is just boring. And Seth is much the same as every boss character in every fighter post-1995, the "possibly-genetically-engineered 'ultimate human.'" I guess I just don't appreciate the ironically hilarious or super sexy factors in my fighting game characters. Actually, that's trumped by Guilty Gear.

Street Fighter>>>>Guilty Gear. Although, I do love an occasional fight or two of Guilty Gear.

I think Abel's pretty cool. Never used him, but I think there's room in Street Fighter for a new command-throw combo character.

Abel's cool for an actual fighting style, but design wise, eh. He's not too exciting.
