After a good couple of listens I'd say the best songs on Rock Stock were the re-recordings of Strange Chameleon (pretty much the current live version but the vocals are definitely moving), Swanky Street (it's interesting in it's own little way, it feels very similar to the original in the best way possible but it also has a fair amount of nuances they bring out when they play it live), and of course I Want To Be Salivan (it's just flat out rocks so much).

Also Rock Stock debuted at #3 on the Oricon.

Yeah, sure they do. That's why I and some others have gotten plenty of rare stuff that hadn't even been seen there yet and posted it here, and why I upped Pied Piper the day it came out before they had it.

So after listening to Rock Stock, I can't say I'm too big on these re-recordings for the most part. It's all right hearing a new spin on some of these, but I'm still of the thought that it's not really necessary and it does nothing for me. I already gave my views on Funny Bunny. One Life's tone just sounded... different. I think the production is just too clean. The original had those intangibles going for it. And I still don't really like the new endings for it or Strange Chameleon. The way Strange Chameleon was before was fine. No need to have Sawao wailing over the already perfect outro. Swanky Street sounded the same for the most part, except the first half of the solo and then its outro as well. I expected to hear the prominent guitars that follow the "Ooh hoo hoos", but it was really, really subdued.

But the positives. I Want to Be Salivan sounded great. Glad to see Sawao was still full of energy for this song. And then 1989 in pure clarity. For all that I've said in recent weeks about Sawao's vocals, I concede that 1989 features Sawao's best studio vocals in some time. It's like he's floating on a cloud, it just sounds awesome, and the emotion in his voice during the last chours is wonderful.

Who is with me on doing Funny Bunny for the Youtube Contest?
I feel like one of their golden songs will catch their attention as much as
any other song. Tonight might do really well, I hope for the best for Mare and GR.

I only have one question for IM. If you do win the contest, are you really able to
go or are able to go at all? If one of us wins, and we can't go for either some reason
(school, work, other..) Maybe we can share the tickets. But then again, it has to be the
whole band right? Vocals, rythm, lead, bass, and drums. Not just a solo artist.

Anyway I could play bass for funny bunny if you want; I like to think I know that song really well.
