Agreed. I think I'm gonna watch that one too, it looks quite amazing.
Weird...I was just gonna link the Baccano! OP. Just heard about the series today, started downloading it. If it's anything like the intro, it will be totally awesome.
I recommended it awhile back ago in the anime thread.

Re: The most amazing anime OP/EDs ever
I remember when I was a kid... the ending for FLCL was simply godly to me for some reason. Ride on Shooting Start seemed like the best thing ever. And just seeing Japan made me feel good. I liked that ending a lot. It still has a special place in me.

The first ending to Outlaw Star, "hiru no tsuki": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz1508RBx2wThe lyrics are beautiful, the singer has a fantastic voice, and it really fits well with the series. To date, this is the only anime I have ever purchased. It's probably my favorite series.

The first ending was probably my least favorite, actually. And if random pictures of random girls doing random things that have nothing to do with the series at all is your idea of "fitting really well with the series," then sure.

Re: The most amazing anime OP/EDs ever
I'm not talking about the visuals when I'm talking about it fitting with the series, I'm talking about the tone and meaning of the song fitting extremely well with Melfina's character and her importance to the series. And yeah, all the openings and endings to that series were great. I liked the soundtrack for that show in general. Like I said, the only anime I liked enough to actually buy the DVD set.

I've been meaning to check out Akino Arai's other work to see if there are any other gems like those.

This is probably one of my favorite ones. The music goes well with the video and the atmosphere of the anime.
Sorry for being late to the party.

Re: The most amazing anime OP/EDs ever
^ Yeah, that's a good one. Too bad the anime itself had such a shitty ending though. Anyway, my favorite opening is definitely this. I can watch it and re-watch it dozens of times and I'd never be bored of it.
