We have a drum set in our house. Maybe I'll pick that up. I get discouraged easily.....wait a minute, we have 1)a drum set, 2)a piano and 3)a clarinet in our house and I still have not troubled myself to learn anything...
Unacceptable

it's easier when you have a teacher who stares angrily at you every week and asks why you haven't practiced.
but in the end you have to be motivated for yourself.

I play woodwinds (I specialize in clarinet and tenor sax, but I can also play many others), piano, and guitar.
I've been playing clarinet for about 10 years and I picked up saxophone to play in my high school's jazz band about 5 years ago. I've got less than a year on guitar and piano, which I really wish I would have started on at a younger age.

ditto. the only reason i hated piano was that it took too much of my teenage attention.. i wouldnt have minded if it was already hammered into my system. but im glad im starting guitar now, since i wouldnt have understood why the heck i would even consider if it werent for the Pillows. =D
how did you get your hands on a theremin, asher?
Haha, believe it or not, I found it on eBay and it was made by some company called the Theremanics (I think), and it was decently priced: around $150, so I convinced a couple of my friends to chip in, and we collectively own it right now. It only has one antennae, which controls the pitch (not like the cool expensive ones, like the ones Jimmy Page used).
It's still very cool and I <3 it muchly. Still don't know how to use it correctly though.

I think everyone should get together and make an American Pillows tribute cd, since there's so many musicians on this forum anyway. Cover a bunch of old/non-popular songs and then send a copy of the finished cd to the band, they listen to it, realize it's better than Synchronized Rockers, and that America is much more hardcore because we picked better songs to cover.
