If everything came to an end, there really wouldn't be any point to a discussion board, now would there?

Camio, you apparently don't notice that many people do in fact notice and critique a band's performance based upon their ability to hit the notes. Making mistakes can be forgiven, especially by fans, but from an objective point of view, the performance of music depends on how accurately the song is performed.

If you saw a play that you are extremely familiar with, and the lead actor forgot and faked half of his lines, you wouldn't think it was still a great performance because of "the energy and feeling he put into it," you would think it was crap.

Good analogy - but it might be interesting to have Hamlet destroy the set in a raging frenzy while he slays Polonius. "Dead, for a ducat," *destroys arras with guitar* "Dead!"

Personally, I don't think this is really a discussion anymore. Everyone's putting up the same thing over and over, and no ones taking any. I don't want to watch Camio fail anymore. I mean... it's funny at first... but it gets pretty sad and whiny fast.

But if you think you can turn him, keep on trying, be my guest.

you know what this is a perfect example of why Craig's performance on letterman was great.

the world is full of people who think they know how things are supposed to be and that are ready to tell you what you should and shouldnt think. You get told to calm down and agree with the baseless arguments of the masses and told "be yourself, as long as you arent A. B. or C." all the time.

then on stage was a guy who let loose and went nuts infront of a nation. Craig has gone on stage and not freaked out, he can control himself. He let go though. The music moved him and me and all his fans get excited when it does.

I'm sorry you guys cant see things from perspectives other than your rationalized frame-of-reference

let the flames roll. I'm done trying to rationalize my opinion for you. It seems that the maximum disagreement allowed before people are belittled is the difference between pepsi or coke around here.

I disagree. Watching Camio fail never gets old.

Cam, let me know when your improvisational Shakespearean Asperger-spastic-tastic theater troupe of destruction takes off. Let me know how it does.

Actually, there's a lot of merit to this statement. Only a moron would believe otherwise.

Furthermore, getting the vast majority of people to discuss how your performance sucked does not, in fact, prove greatness. I can see how you got confused on that point, though.

As long as we keep him posted idiocy on a message board and away from blowing up buildings, I think that there's great merit to trying to rationalize with him. :)

Dude, not to gang up on you, but I wish we heard this. Every guy you've ever interacted with in some capacity and thought "wow, what a douche" was "being themself."

Apparently the requirements for intelligence no longer simply require being intelligent, but also require avoiding being mean to stupid people?

Yeah. This statement is what makes child rape illegal. People need limits to keep societies healthy and functioning.
I can't believe Camio still doesn't get it. Is he just being stubborn for the sake of things or what?

SOMETIMES: "different" = good.
SOMETIMES: "different" = shitty.

The Vines' performance is the latter one. We're not being close-minded, or blindly encouraging the status quo. We're making judgements based on analysis - not just of the band, but of the context the performance was in, too.

You're sticking to ideology a lot more than we are, it seems.

No, you're doing fine, it's not necessary to insult somebody when telling them that they're wrong, it's just a lot more satisfying.
