Don't you think the Clash felt the same way about their music? I've read Joe Strummer's lyrics, he's expressive, articulate...talented(?) I believe he at least hoped to influence others to action with his music.
And when it comes down to it, I've never even heard of Crass until now, so how influential can they be? And I don't want to listen to artists bitch about social injustice and offer nothing positive in their message.
However, I should look into this group, Crass, and investigate their lyrics before I open my mouth, eh?

if you want.

really, crass is/was incredibly influential. they started the anarcho-punk (crust) movement. Dirt, Flux of Pink Indians, Nausea, Hellkrusher, Doom, Conflict and many more.

i think you will be blown away by what you find out about them.

and like i said before, lets get back on subject.

any bass guitar suggestions?
really, this was a stupid arguement. Mellie, you should know better than to assume that the whole world loves the pistols, clash or the ramones.

its like my cousin said: "The Pistols are the 70's Blink 182."

back on topic, any recommendations for the bass guitar. it doesn't matter about the style of music. just any recommandations are welcomed.
"Bangs head on keyboard then laughs her ass off"

Ha ha ha! Oh yeah, the pistols were all over MTV back the day and had a ton of top ten hits. Your cousin is quite the expert.

Obviously he or she wasn't there either. If you only knew how freekin' laughable that statement was. Once again, un real.

Also, I NEVER said the whole world loves the pistols or the clash nor do I think they should. BUT just because YOU and your cousin don't like their music or they aren't your "punk cup of tea" doesn't mean they aren't punk. Oh wait, maybe it does. After all, you two are the experts.

Freekin hillarious.

WTF.

who the fuck is talking about experts around here? its all simple logic here. logic you don't want to embrace. i already presented you with enough details to show to you that the pistols are not punk and never will be. punk rock music yes. but not punk. you keep looking at it from a musical perspective. music to the punk movemene was merely a tool that was used to spread messages of peace and equality. something those hacks called the ramones never did. STOP SUCKING THEIR DICKS! honestly, you are basically agreeing with everyone else who says that those bands are punk. you are agreeing with what was marketed to you by CBS and EMI. and don't start that bullshit on how they were not a big record company. the whole punk movement was against fucking EMI. you don't seem to care because you have crap in your ears.

i know that the pistols were never on MTV. they couldn't have been cuz they were dead before that shit network came out. its really more of a comparison on how people claim them to be punk but truly are not. furthermore, while it is true that i do not like their music, the whole argument was based on the facts that they were never punk. i don't think i ever talked about the validity of their music being punk. only the fact that they were hypocrites. i mean, Rotten claimed he was an anarchist. did he live the fucking life? hell no. "Anarchy in the U.K. " really makes no sense. all he is saying is that he was to be anarchist. really, all of fucking england was sucking their dicks.

really, i don't have to say anymore on this subject. you simply don't want to embrace the fact that they never were or ever be punk.

i agree with clouds. if you want to continue this stupid argument, i suggest you send me a PM.

It's funny watching people try to fight for the title of "best music critic in the universe".

A word of advice: come to terms with the fact you don't know enough about music to criticize it unless you were actually in the band that you're talking about, and every opinion that you have to give on music that was created before "your time" has already been discussed and criticized by many, many people that are much more educated on the subject than you are.

i see that people here are completely stupid. not everyone however.

honestly, just because i wasn't alive during that time, doesn't mean i don't know about what happened or what the subject is about. don't fucking assume that about anybody. don't assume that i don't know shit about the music. this fight was never about being the best critic. really, this was just a stupid fight by a stubborn person who has accepted the opinion of what was marketed towards her.

and you seem to be blind because i never-ever talked about their style of music.

word of advice-read before you post.
