Oh hell yeah. Bad animation aside, the story and characters are amazing. If you don't mind reading, the manga is fucking amazing and goes way beyond the story in the anime, too.

Yeah, the anime is basically a 25 episode long ad for the manga....which still hasn't been finished since it started in the late 80s(iirc).

Two words: "Soul Eater."
This is going to be the big series of '08. Awesome fights, great animation, great gags, and lovable characters. This has everything that I look for in a series!

have any of you guys checked out Hiroaki Samura's "Blade of the Immortal"? I think its supremely badass. Anyone agree?

Dennou Coil and Kaiba are highly impressive for television animation. And Oh! Edo Rocket is creative, colorful, and exceedingly fun, like a Gainax show without the robots.

I'm digging Death Note, and I finished Shigofumi last month. Shigofumi was a pretty good anime...
Hm, what else? Welcome to the NHK is one of my favorite shows. Excellent slice of life/comedy series. 9.5/10. The only thing that was bad was the ending (well, not bad, but not too satisfying either).
Code Geass finally made it to Adult Swim, and I checked out the dub. It was pretty good (I never watched the fansubs for Geass).

Hehe, well I admit, when it comes to endings I'm never satisfied. 
Still, NHK will probably always be one of my favorites. I'm waiting for it to be fully released before I bother to buy it.

any good anime come out recently?
I gave up on anime but Im always interested in creative anime. You know the kind that makes it like art. Cowboy Bebop, Paranoia Agent, FLCL, Wolf's Rain, etc.
Stuff that sort of breaks the mold.
