Wow, this sure got off topic fast. I tend to ignore sexual fetishes in general, I don't think I have any, but I must say girl-on-top really gets me going. Does that count?

I dunno; it was said in my psych class that even when pedos were given lobotomies, they were still into feeling up the kiddies. :dizzy:

I don't know, girl-on-girl has never really done it for me. I always get a kind of a "man I wish it was one-of-them-on-me" feeling from it.

I think the main appeal of girl-on-girl is not having to watch some guy have sex? Maybe.

Long post. Rantish. It's not about pedophilia, rather frustration in general with Faith-based fear against homosexuals, or other "abominations".

By now, it's hella off-topic of Juno. Sorry, mods. We should end it soon. One rant and I'm done.

Start:

Yeah, it's kinda silly how Davey from A.F.I. keeps getting the "gay" question. Frickin morons at school talking about how He must be; just look at him!

Except for one girl and one boy, I don't know if there are any openly gay people attending my school. The homophobia pisses me off. Out of everyone at school, there's only a handful of kids that even have expressive looks. (hair highlights, punk pants, band shirts) White bread central. :P At the merest mention of gay relationships, shit turns ugly in multiperson room spanning "I think it's disgusting." "I don't care what they do with their life, but I think it's sick." "It's ok, they're going to hell" "I'm not gay, but it's ok so much as they stay away from me." "They can be gay as long as they do it after they graduate so I don't have to be around that." The couple of kids that have gay friends never say anything, they just let the shit blow all over the room.

Like, wow. >:[ Even my mom. It's ridiculous. :( Just a couple nights ago:

Mom: "HE'S A FAGGOT!"

Me: "So ignorant. :?"

Mom: "What, are you gay?"

:FACE FUCKING PALM, DUE TO THIS BEING AROUND THE THIRD OR FOURTH TIME SHE HAS SAID THAT TO ME.:

She keeps saying we're all gonna die because of the Mayan Calendar thing too. It's outta control irrational "Wrong Christian" mentalities. For all the amazing things my mom has done for the family and for all the great personality traits inside, I cannot believe my ears sometimes.

Every once in a while, I go looking for religious programming that sends a positive message, because it sure doesn't seem to be exuding from the thoughts of most. I do not practice any religion. I catch a show where this asian preacher (Can't remember his name) will take common bible quote misinterpretations and analyze the words and quotes, repeating and repeating, making the crowd understand THE TRUE MEANING of the quote, take the misinterpretation and throw it out, damn near piss on it, and the message always comes out GOOD. It makes sense! It's comforting! All fear eliminated! All hate purged! If this were the standard practice for teaching the fucking gospel... If this were what caught on with the everyday folks and not just the well initiated...

I'm going to try to remember something he said: (I obviously don't remember all of it, many bits may be way off, some parts may be putting words in his mouth, it's all vague, but there is something very valid within.)

"A lot of preachers say that it's the devil that makes you do such terrible things, or sometimes not terrible things but biological things, such as disease, or homosexuality, or anything. It's not the devil. It's the flesh. It is the flesh that makes you think, possibly for a second, to maybe drown the baby as you hold it in your arms. It's the flesh, the flesh makes you think that you are attracted to something or someone, anything. It's the flesh that makes you think, "There is no god", or "maybe there is no god"; the flesh thinks these things. Why would you think Christ will not forgive you; will damn you; for what the flesh thinks? It is the flesh that has been given to you! Christ does not punish for your flesh! Belief in Christ is accepting your flesh, the flesh given to you to serve Christ. We may not understand the flesh, but we should let Christ into it to serve God."

It sounds very responsible. Accept that there are things regarding our biology that we don't fully understand, and stop freaking out everytime we think we're having a "blasphemy attack", without a better way to phrase it for now. This keeps the focus on spiritual strengthening and away from scare-tactics. If I were to want religion in my life, I would surely focus on the most positive outlooks imaginable.

One of the things that most bothers me about overly religious people is how much credit they give to "the devil". Specifically, Satan. Oh noes. Last time I checked, Satan is fucking greek mythology. And he gets to have "hell" all to himself. Wow.

Ridiculous how somehow this one specific greek god gets to be the grandmaster fucks-everything-up-go-to-guy and gets a whole realm crafted for him. Instead of expiring and our souls getting to be with god (The fuzzy warm happy ending to existance), now our souls are subject to door A or door B depending on how well you did. (The Game Show fear drenched ending to existance) Wut? God being as amazing as he is, it seems counter-productive to not shut down the whole "Hell" operation. Lol, it's bollocks to the umpteenth degree, and people swear up and fucking down the whole yin-yang thing about "THERE HAS TO BE A HELL BECAUSE THERE'S A HEAVEN". Haha, oh wow. All said it seems that it'd be a great deal easier for everyone to just cease existing when they die. That works for me, at least.

And it should work for everyone that they just get over themselves when thinking about "what they believe in." Can they not hear how spiteful and ignorant they sound as they try to reinforce their "beliefs" by coaxing everyone around them to go apeshit about how icky-ucky-yucky gay people are to them? Maybe there is someone in the fucking room that feels like a total piece of shit because he doesn't want pricks to incriminate him for being gay who has to sit there and hear all that shit! They don't think of it! How is it that a few people can consistantly ignore percentages and just think they can speak like that without offending anyone? Without anyone challenging anything they say, they just lead themselves further down the shitter.

ugh...

Gay people don't bother me; only people that act like flamers do.

I finally saw this. I thought it was okay. I just found it hard to sympathize much with Juno because she just didn't seem very genuine. It seemed like she was deliberately acting overly weird.

Hence the mediocre acting/writing, as I previously mentioned.

Sorry Cloudy, but you're mom sounds like a bitch.
I mean, you'd expect a response like that to be coming from the school closet-homosexual bully, not a mother.
Anyways, religion is a man's way of dealing with unsurety, then come those who twist it past original meaning, that's where the problem comes from.

After a third time Juno isn't nearly as good as it was the first time through. It's still good, I think, but the whole movie really is in the acting and directing. After a few times the dialogue and "omg look at me I'm an indie film"-ness of it make me want to punch somebody in the face.

Doesn't change how much it moved me the first time through, but I won't be making it my first Blu-Ray as I had previously planned.

I read about twenty pages of the script, and it bums me out that it got the Oscar, beating out absurdly delightful movies like Lars and the Real Girl, just because the screenwriter used to be a stripper.

If you think it's funny before you've seen the movie...

Edit: The sad part is, it's not like they're exaggerating for humorous effect, or even giving an opinion...they're just telling it how it is...

colin_in_sick has this movie pegged:
I watched it a few days ago. I really did get the feeling that indie rock, precociousness, and the word "quirky" were being crammed down my throat at every opportunity. It wasn't really a BAD movie, but there were typical elements that constantly reminded me that I was watching a formulaic INDIE flick.
Anyway, good movie - but could definitely do without the "indie." Except the kind that foils Nazi plots in a fedora. I mean, just having music that wasn't terrible would have saved this movie for me.

Yeah, I found a couple tunes catch but most of them made me cringe. I don't know why if you're going for "indie rock" you need to have duh-duh-dumbshit lyrics (or to have indie rock featured in major motion pictures at least). I actually bought the OST for that one song at the end and quickly regretted it.

The first time through I hated the first ten minutes of the movie, it was WAY too quirky and that Rainn Wilson douchebag from the US Office is never funny in any circumstances, but I got into the story quickly thanks to the acting/directing and the dialogue didn't bother me anymore, but on repeat viewings - and ESPECIALLY after reading some of the script - it begins to bother me. The script is alright but the movie is good almost entirely due to the awesome actors and director (editor too) they got.

That shortened script is great. The first time I saw it I was actually pissed during that last long tracking shot because in my head I was going "WTF JASON BATEMAN AND MICHAEL CERA DIDN'T HAVE A SCENE TOGETHER"
