capitalism != classism
Proletariat. Bourgeoisie. Classes.
EDIT: So it may not be the strictly structured Alpha, Beta, Theta stuff, but still.

If by classes, you mean that everybody is not equally poor and miserable (i.e. not capitalism), then yeah.

I finished Norwegian Wood last night and followed it up with a lot of vodka. Other than having sex, it seemed like the only appropriate thing I could do.
I thought the Golden Compass sounded stupid, but then I heard someone on Fox News ranting about it being "atheist propoganda," so now I'm mildly interested.
Probably no more than Harry Potter is pagan propaganda... I have no idea what in it would be considered pro-atheist.
It's a fun read, in any case.

I haven't finished it so maybe there's more later or in the sequels, but all I can think of is the references to the 'Church' helping fund the bad guys.

I read J by Kenzaburo Oe, but then I bought like five Murakami books, so I put Seventeen on the backburner and am reading The Elephant Vanishes, a collection of Murakami's short stories.

I'd read this Golden Compass biz if I weren't on a Murakami binge.
Just finished South of the Border, West of the Sun and Kafka on the Shore. Continuing with the Elephant Vanishes and possibly starting Seventeen by Kenzaburo Oe.
