It'd be better to learn Japanese and then translate it into Spanish straight from the source, because you lose a bit every time you translate something into another language do to mistakes, interpretations, adapting things, etc.

To start translating in japanese, well it's kinda hard, but I enjoy it. I have 2 years and the hard part about translating is only having the kanji of the song. If you have hiragana/katakana it can be fairly easy, or sometimes complicating, but ehh if you wanna study it, go ahead its afun language

Ummmm...the only way you can accurately translate is with the kanji of the song, since there are tons of words with the same pronunciation but different kanji, plus there can at times be ways to rearrange hiragana into different words than it would be if you had the kanji, causing further mistakes. :/

I'd say 2-3 years to get a good base of grammar knowledge, depending on the rigor of your study. After that it's just expanding on that and learning bajillions of kanji. I started translating lyrics without too much trouble after my 2nd year or so... stuff that was utterly incomprehensible after 1 year started making sense then.
