I wish there was an instrumental song on this album because they tend to be awesome but whatever.
I enjoy the album very much, its a little different but fun to listen to like all pillows songs.

Moreso than the last two albums, at least.

yes. Though it may look like a children's sing along cd in your cd collection the music is awesome for a couple of new-age pillows songs.

Not sure if it's been mentioned (don't think so, but could have missed it) but the first day sales were #4 on the daily charts, which I'll go ahead and assume is their best debut ever (Since then it's been #5 -> 13 -> 16).

Commence arguing/sarcastic remarks about business, creativity, and their label change, but it seems that their recent roll of mainstream success hasn't even peaked yet. I for one, am reasonably happy, considering that I don't really correlate any of this to any changes in style, as those two things don't seem to match up at all. (I generally attribute the start of this to Synchronized Rockers).

It seems the album is slowly truly truly growing on me. I might even say I love it next week. :o 8)

OH MY GOD HE'S BACK.

i totally thought alero was dead. It's like Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

With less Austrians.

I thought it was because Earthlink denied me service after I paid them, so I sued them and I lost internet for almost a year. XD

This album really strikes with me. I can feel the themes of youth and vitality coming through without really even needing the words. I mean seriously, every song that comes on already gives me the biggest grin in the opening seconds, and it's already starting to shake away from simply rating each song individually with numbers for me. Rather than a collection of songs, it is easily becoming apparent to me that it is one complete piece with one distinct voice and direction, much like Little Busters, and PML. I don't care if you will agree/disagree, and if you feel it necessary to bash it (or me) for humor's sake, I really won't mind.

I'm surprised at how deeply this is affecting me. I know some may want to dissect it further and discuss it's flaws and merits, placing it above/below so and such, but I'm not really on that level with it anymore. I'm beaming. This connects with me so deeply, and I am very grateful for the message of this album.

Very eagerly awaiting the lyric translations. ^_^ And those Tower stickers scans. 8)

only one i've done so far; i got my friend to fill in the blanks and correct what i was able to get from listening (i was able to get the lyrics about 90% right by ear, lol). I totally agree with you, this album is really good and a step in the "right" direction. I'm really pleased with what the pillows are doing and that they're starting to get some well-deserved recognition.

Bit alter than everyone else but I haven't had access to a computer lately. Anyways, my thoughts on the album:

Wake Up! dodo- I'm starting to like the song more and more with each listen, it's a good fun song.

Youngster- Nothing to striking here. Catchy, seems kinda like filler though.

Propose- Well I'm still going to contend that the live version was better. Someone mentioned the lack of rhythm guitar during the solo and it was pretty apparent. But overall I still enjoyed the studio version.

Scarecrow- Still a good song, not much else to say about it.

Boat House- I'm thinking this might be my favorite song so far on the album. It defintiely has that Patricia feel to it, and I love the guitar solo. :)

Pleasure Song- Great melody, and the solo ain't half bad either.

Serious Plan- Meh, it's all right I guess. Really repetitive chorus like everyone else has said.

Skinny Blues- I'm liking this song a lot. Excellent guitar work and probably the best solo on this album

Private Kingdom- This song was pretty interesting. Nothing too mind blowing though.

Century Creepers- Another great song with a lot of emotion which I liked. Plus they didn't backtrack Sawao's vocals for the most part during the chorus which I really liked.

Sweet Baggy Days- A pretty good ending to the album, however this chorus was even more repetitive than Serious Plan, plus I don't think the song really needed to be that long.

Overall, I thought the album was decent, but My Foot was much better I think. I like WPx3 better than PL and GD though. I just think that My Foot had more variations in their songs and had a lot more songs that stood out. That doesn't take away from WPx3 being pretty good and I'm sure I'll be listening to it a lot these coming weeks. Also, if no one else does it, I can gt some scans up of the album tomorrow.

It's pretty funny. My Foot just sunk into me about a week or so before Wake up came out. Mighty Lovers and Sayonara Universe especially got me to listen to the album as a whole. I'd say it gets good from track 5 and down for My Foot. Im just happy I finally know why you guys like it so much.
