I just want to know how this got determined. I could say he has no taste in music, but I don't want to sound elitist.

Although many of the bands are good, "classic rock" radio does suck because it's the same songs you've heard ninety eight billion times already and never want to hear again - "More Than A Feeling", "Stairway To Heaven", "Slow Ride", "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Hotel California."

However, those happen to be some of the greatest songs ever created by mankind. And how much variety you get depends on the station, not what kind it is.

For me, it's much better to listen to good music I've heard plenty of times before rather than be bombarded with the mainstream music of today which I don't particularly like. Classic Rock and Classical are something which have a sort of timeless quality to them.
I'm not saying there isn't good music today, it's just that, I don't feel like trudging through a ton of contemporary shit to find something good.

There's a HUGE difference between listening to something a thousand times because you want to hear it, and being bombarded by something that long lost its charm on the radio.

The other problem with classic rock radio is that in addition to not covering a wider variety of songs from the aforementioned artists, they never play stuff like The Velvet Underground, Television, Captain Beefheart, Jeff Beck, King Crimson, Robert Wyatt, and plenty of others.

I've got to say that I hate Tom Sawyer or whatever, and because that's the only Rush song that seems to get played.. I hate Rush. At least Geddy Lee's voice.

D: I love Rush. Geddy Lee's vocals are awesome to me.

To each his own, but I personally can't stand them. I have a few friends who like Sabbath.. but only the Dio albums. However, I'm the complete opposite. I only like Ozzy Sabbath.

Dude, I'm gonna be honest - any brand of station that plays "Carry On Wayward Son" regularly deserves nothing but my eternal scorn.

Well classic rock isnt at all half bad after all it did start and/or influence all music presently. But classic rock gets does get overrated and overplayed alot but then again so does all "good music

Fall Out Boy, Panic At The Disco, and rap should all be in the same category. They make songs mostly that is centered around gaining attention of all the retarded youth and gaining profit. For example, Walk It Out. There is no way in hell that the real "OG"'s would approve of that.
