Yeah, I'm definitely not guilty for liking DragonForce.

I think they're good, but I feel guilty for liking a metal band (Dream Theater is more prog than metal, so I'm not counting them here.)

Have you guys seen the one episode of Simpsons where Homer has to sing 99 Luftballoons to the German people living in their house? That was full of win.

"Oh! Here comes the second verse, I hope he knows it!"

I've memorized some of his songs already too.

Jesus Christ. I miss that album. I have half of it on my computer, but I lost the actual album a while back =/ damn it.. that was seriously a great CD. Especially Grey Matter, <3 Daryl Palumbo. Unfortunately I'm more familiar with him through Head Automatica (I'm actually listening to Decadence right now) as opposed to Glassjaw, although I do have Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence.

Also :X I like J.E.W. too. And Nena-99 luftballons.. I've listened to that almost as much as I have the Loituma song :P

Hm.. some of my guilty pleasures:

Pokemon soundtrack occasionally.
Kimya Dawson/The Moldy Peaches. (Although I shouldn't feel too bad about that XD It's just.. Kimya is way too depressing and sensitive.)
Some Nirvana :X Like In Utero/Unplugged/Bleach (although Bleach has been getting on my nerves the last few times I've tried to listen to it)
Some Orange Range songs >_>;
Rie Fu
PMMP
Regina Spektor (MY BIGGEST ONE XD I love her.)
Silverstein (I can only listen to a few songs)
Guitar Vader

I don't like like metal stylistically because most of it is too dark and has little interesting melody (this is why I like power metal a bit more). Most of it is incredibly cheesy with show-off shred solos that typically bore, or inane detuned power chord riffage. I hate the guitars and other equipment metal musicians use, especially the horrid midrangeless tone that modern bands use.

And of course, there's idiotic metal culture - dirty guys with elbow-length curly hair, ugly Iron Maiden t-shirts, and the upbeat demeanor of moldy provolone cheese. They also tend to display even worse behavior than most internet denizens.

Not to mention that I don't "connect" with metal whatsoever. Indie rock is much more "me", though there's plenty of stuff outside of that genre which I like.

Just sang "Freak on a Leash" at Karaoke Night with my Japanese friends. They looked at me as though I was a god :D.

I understand where you're coming from, Thinliine. Though I think we speak of different types of metal, perhaps. For me, I absolutely adore glam metal. Death metal and such, I tend to steer clear from, though.

Whenever the opportunity arises, I love to just sit back and crank the Crue, or Poison, or Ratt, or Maiden, or Judas fucking Priest. Of course, there's Mr. Big and Racer X, which you all should know hold a very special place in my heart. The Scorpions, Van Halen, GnR, Bon Jovi...

Now I have to go listen to some metal.
