If I went anywhere which led to me being bombarded by fat kids, I'd probably act a little homocidal. Okay, a lot homocidal.

i am sad too. i wonder if Sawao really thinks that american fans only like the pillows because of FLCL. i've never even seen FLCL.
if they come this year, someone should yell out "kimi to futari".

Someone also needs to tell them to stop shouting "We are the Pirrows OKAY!?"

I was just thinking that. Then again, "kimi to futari" sort of a common...phrasing. As in, it's an old non-album song, so they might not make the connection and just think that you want to be with them. Kimi to Futari.

I know, I wish we all had our shit together during at least the second tour. We could have mass-bombarded them with IM fans, instead of having them deal with fat kids who stared at their Rock'n'roll Sinners shirts with confusion.
Speaking of that, i couldn't help but just start laughing when they started playing R&R Sinners at the chicago show. Manabe started pointing to his shirt, obviously saying "Okay boys and girls, this song is called Rock n roll sinners, even though you should know this since it's been out for 6 months already!" and yes i know the american album was just released that day, those fans aren't getting the benefit of the doubt from me.

Anyways, there were a few hardcore fans nonetheless and i hope they made an impact. after the show the guy right before me had his WI album signed and then i followed up with my copy of PML. that's not exactly bombarding them, but yea. If they come back though, we really have to organize something i think to get their attention and let them know that some people, if only a few, appreciate their non-FLCL work. Maybe yelling out more random old songs will work, who knows. i think someone should totally belt out the entire Shiroi title

I know we can all agree that their early work was solid, and that we all like it. But that's the past, and I'm almost certain that what they are looking for is that we are keeping up to date with what they are doing now. Imagine their reaction signing a dozen or so imported My Foot CD's at each show. Manabe would drop his pants, and Sawao would actually realize there's a market here.

I'm sure a big reason why their American releases fail incredibly hard is because all the real fans who actually know about them import.

That's more probable

That really is a good point, however i didn't bring my My Foot album becuase I didn't want to seem like a generic fan, considering there is really no difference with the covers on the two albums. I was considering bringing my Third Eye single to the concert though, but i had just gotten my copy of PML in the mail that very day, so i figured i'd bring that. Maybe i'll bring my Scarecrow single with if they tour again.

The Pillows recognizing the dedication of their fans through old song titles shouted at them.

It does make sense, but nonetheless, you have to think Sawao would get pretty happy to hear a fan yell out Never Find at a concert. The best way to really show our appreciation is to show we know about ALL of their works from their 17 year history and not just a few albums like the FLCL fans out there
Sawao goes on to say that 99% of the fans only care about them because of FLCL and they don't care to come to the states again to play for a bunch of otaku sweaties, laughing follows...
Oh bullshit. Sawao would never say something like that. Sure most of them know them from FLCL; but we were these people, too. But we went beyond "otaku fandom" and became actual Little Busters. Sawao knows that people like us exist; and that's why the pillows will return.

Guys, notice the laughing part.. I think Sawao was just joking.

I dunno, from what i gathered last dinosaur's interpretation might be partly right. i wouldn't be surprised if sawao thought the majority of fans are stupid, because they are. yea, we have made the "jump" from FLCL, but the fact is most of the pillows fans haven't and only pay attention to that and the statewide releases. on the flip side, i'm sure the pillows know they have some hardcore fans here, but it's people like ROSS and "sweaty otakus" who might ruin it for everybody

I asked Sawao to come back and play that song in person after the Chicago show.

This was right after we were discussing Spiky Brothers, so I'm pretty sure I had his attention.
