some japanese music downloads...
my girlfriend sent me this link yesterday and it's pretty comprehensive... pages 1 and 2 of the thread are just full of sendspace links.
HERE
i know that since i don't use soulseek, i didn't have the two live pillows albums... not only that i'm totally downloading typhoon24 =P
also, i haven't heard of 99% of these bands... which ones suck and which ones don't?

I've seen this board before. It's pretty much a vapid pool of VK and bands that are only popular atm because they had a song featured on an anime. Avoid at all costs.

zenkalia: you should give those artists a try:
Miaou, Multi Colored Vox, Nananine, Noodles, Number Girl, Oblivion Dust, Quruli, Remioromen, Seagull Screaming Kiss Her Kiss Her, Spangle Call Lilli Line, Sparta Locals, Sports, Supercar, Syrup16g, The Back Horn(I just heard one song though, from Rock is Loft compilation, but it seemed nice), The Birthday, The Blue Hearts, The Elephant Kashimashi, The Stalin, Thee Michelle Gun Elephant.
And from 1st page:
10-Feet, Acidman, Beat Crusaders, Blankey Jet City, Bloodthirsty Butchers, Choke Sleeper, Husking Bee
And thanks for the link, I miss some albums from few bands. And if you are interested in another Typhoon 24 album that wasn't uploaded there, I can upload it myself later.
p.s.: And I believe those aren't VK I hate VK vocal style.
i know that since i don't use soulseek, i didn't have the two live pillows albums...
Those aren't actually live albums, just rips from the respective DVD's, but if you don't have the DVD's (I don't have the BOTP one), or perhaps even if you do, it's nice to have the mp3's.
also, i haven't heard of 99% of these bands... which ones suck and which ones don't?
Same here. I have no clue, in general.
I've seen this board before. But the point of this guy's post is to include other stuff that no one ever talks about. He's got some VK in there, too, but he seems to listen to anything and has just massloads of Japanese music. It's pretty cool. I've downloaded some stuff from the page, and I'm in the process of getting a couple more things, because I hadn't checked in a while, and a lot was added. I actually didn't have DAYDREAM WONDER or the single's Sonna fuu ni sugoshitai, so I just got those.
By the way, anyone want to recommend a Suneohair album? I've been meaning to check them out, but I didn't know which album to start off with. I know at least someone on this board listens to them, because I remember seeing the name, though it might only be terra...

I just downloaded this one by "Water Melon" just for shits and giggles. Apparently he / they only released one album in 1997 then quit. It's really depressing, but not even that good. It made me totally space out for half an hour

Re: some japanese music downloads...
I have never listened to The Predators, so I saw that they are on there and I'm going to listen to them.
Here's to them being good!

It's probably the same exact thing as the pillows, as Sawao merely found other people to make his bitch on the side, because Sato, Manabe, and Jun couldn't handle the workload.

Actually, they are pretty good. Not exactly as you say though. The Predators have a different sound, like alternative rock, a little more rough than the Pillows.

"probably" the same exact thing as the pillows? You mean you haven't heard The Predators, sheerheart? Damn, I though you must've by now.
Hunting!!! has some good tracks, namely Bakuon Drop, Last Hunting, and Lizard Man. Especially Last Hunting.
I like The Predators well enough.

I know, I suck. I really want to have, but I fail at slsk and cannot use it (college firewall?) My music collection is largely based out of torrents and the little good music there is on the college DC hub. And the, say, ten percent I legitimately bought.
I also kind of feel bad asking, like, Mare for music because I know he's a busy man and doesn't need to waste his time schooling me in music.
But I am curious as to what degree I'm right or not.

Well, why don't you go ahead and download it now, like Utuseru did, if you're so curious. (I would have been happy to give it to you myself, if you'd asked. I like sharing music.)
It's not bad, really. But not too great, either. I like it well enough, though. I've listened to it a few times, and I'm sure I'll listen to it again sometime. And it is quite a different style from the pillows. Check it out.

I agree that The Predators are nice, but the songs are kinda too similar.

predators = trying too hard to be nirvana... not horrible but definitely not great.
typhoon = accidentally downloaded trying to get typhoon24... it's dance music O_o bad dance music.
typhoon24 = surprisingly bad. the beck soundtrack misled me.
10-feet = pretty cool.
yeah that's all i've tried so far... why don't we all just keep downloading random stuff and reporting back? this could be useful after weeding out the visual kei and crap.
