But to call the Wii the clear-cut winner here (at this point in the game) seems a bit...fanboyish?
actually, i'm more of a playstation fan. i'm just shocked at how much better the wii looks on this one.
xbox - not weaker graphically and such, but the weakest of the three in awesome, it seems. it does have a lot more games out already for it, and it has more great games lined up in the future though.
ps3 - if i could afford one and they had them, i'd get one. eventually. but i'm VERY disappointed in how they don't have anything worthwhile coming out for a while.
the wii, however. innovative controller (i've always wanted something cool like that, so that i could do things like swing the sword how i want it to be swung), amazing games, amazing price. overall, i'd say that i would get it before the other two. and i didn't even buy a gamecube.

Anyone who thinks Xbox360 is the weaker of the 3 systems *hint hint mare* is ambiguously ignorant. I'd have to say that both the PS3 and the Wii's launch games are not that good (except for TP). It's smart not to buy anyone of them at launch and just wait until more decent games come out. I know that I wont get a Wii until SSBB comes out and I wont get a PS3 until the price drops, and until FFXIII comes out. Right now I have a 360 and In my experience it has the best graphics out of the 3 and I think in the long run It'll be a very good solid system. Now I know Wii fanboys are like " INNOVATION! LOOK AT ME IM SWINGIN MAH NUNCHAKU WIIIIIIIIIII" and the PS3 guys go "IM TILTING THIS CONTROLLER TO TURN UP AND DOWN AND TO THE SIDE". But after a while, dont you think thats gonna get annoying as hell? Having to work so hard to get so little. And I guess thats why they have the regular controllers too. Well anyway, I've made up a list of the next-gen consoles and I compared them:
PS3 - Of course better graphics then the PS2, but from what's out right now, you might as well stick with your PS2. The Sixaxis controller could be put to good use like with flight games and maybe even racing games, ect. Free interent is always a plus. 599.99 is too much money to even consider getting one right now. Wait until better games come out (MGS4, FFXIII, Assassins Creed, ect).
Wii - I havent seen a Wii in RL action yet, so I would assume the graphics would be better then the Gamecube's. Wiimote and the Nunchaku controllers, I can see where you could have a good time flailing about your room and feel like a retard while doing it, thats why they got the good ol' re-vamped NES controller. It's at a good decent price that everyone can afford, along with affordable games. The games, seriously as for now are extremely lacking (except for TP). I know down the road they'll come out with the same games that everyone knows (SSBB, Mario Galaxy, Metroid) and hopefully they'll put out some other great games.
Xbox360 - I'd have to say the graphics are the best out of the 3 consoles. The wireless controller is great and it feels nice and smooth in your hands (only problem is it uses up batteries pretty fast, so you might wanna get a couple of packs). XboxLive is great with the headset, download things at the marketplace (demo's, games, profile pics, ect) but you have to pay for everything with points. It's set a decent price, not too much. Launch games were decent at best, I actually forgot what they were anyway. But good games that are out right now would be: Oblivion, DOA4, Dead Rising, Enchanted Arms, Gears of War, Phantasy Star Universe, CoD 3, FEAR, Sonic, Condemned, and Smackdown vs. Raw 2007. Future games that are coming out that look promising are: Lost Planet, Blue Dragon, DDR universe, Huxley, ShadowClan, Theseis, Turok, Assassin's Creed, BioShock, Mass Effect, The Darkenss, Too Human, Lost Odyssey, Dark Sector, GTA4, Stranglehold, and of course Halo 3.
Right now If I had to pick between a PS3 or a Wii to accompany my Xbox360, I would probably pick the Wii. Just because its something different, and yes it does have that innovation. But I wont rule out the PS3.
I'll probably get all of the consoles down the road anyway, and get the best out of all 3.

Actually, I do believe the PS3 has the highest capabilities of the three systems, graphic and processor-wise, and the Wii has the least (I think, not sure about all the categories). And you also have to take into account the fact that the 360 has been out for quite a while. That's why it has so many good games. And as for buying the Wii right away? I would. Nintendo has done REALLY well with getting the bugs out before release. My SNES and Nintendo 64 were both purchased pretty much right at release, and the both work perfectly still. Also, my NES works (shocking!). Nintendo and faulty consoles don't go together.
I'd say wait for the PS3, grab a Wii now. When they get games that really use the PS3's capabilities...

yeah, twilite princess will be nice, but don't forget red steel. I'm actually not sure what games are out already for wii, but the games scheduled to come out in the launch window (through march) are great.

I posted this on another forum:
I bought a Wii for myself on sunday. It's so badass. I thought Wii sports would just be some freebie to mess around with for 5 minutes and then move on to more 'serious' things, but oh man, bowling is fucking awesome. Bowling and Tennis. Bowling, Tennis and Baseball. Bowling, Tennis, Baseball and Golf. All awesome. Boxing is meh.
I bought Trauma Center: Second Opinion, Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz to go with it. I have yet to feel the sting of disappointment. I am disappointed in Nintendo for making component cables so damn hard to get, but that's not really related to the games themselves.
Whomever may have their doubts about the Wii, I would say "get it, now". Whomever may think the Wii a gimmick and doesn't want one, I would say "try it, now," it may just change your mind.
No you don't. We're talking about how much satisfaction you can get from any one system. The fact that the Xbox 360 was released a year ago is irrelavent.
So what if it's been out for a while? Doesn't mean I should buy a PS3 or Wii instead.
**I don't own any new consoles. My video game fix comes in the form of: Stepmania, IIDX 7th Mix (8)), and a few DS games.

I was talking about the games for it. As a game is out, more good games will be released. My quote was taken out of context there:

There are whole lot more proficiency levels for Stepmania than real on-foot DDR.
My DDR level is such: I can consistently pass So Deep, Healing Vision: Angelic Mix, Sakura, exotic ethnic, AA, Matsuri Japan, and Can't Stop Falling In Love (Speedy Mix). I can probably pass Cartoon Heroes as well...I should try again.
Stepmania: I can easily pass the really fast/crazy Heavy edit of AA, as well as one certain edit for Quasar. I think they're around...13 feet? I'm not sure, I know there are lot of different edits for songs. I can easily A LoM two-finger (index/middle) style on Heavy. AA HV:AM pretty well...yeah
It's fun. A local bowling alley just got a Supernova Machine in. 75c for 3 songs. yay.
