Don't worry, guys. I rebutted his rebuttal. Totally owned him. All's good now.

You sir, don't know anything. TYMT has been their best work since Happy Bivouac. How can YOU skip over that awesome album and claim that MY FOOT has that title? Please. You just lost any crediblity I thought you might have had. :dizzy:
I happen to be listening to Ty,mt right now, and thejedipunk has used his force to make me agree with him.

good job, omnistry, that was probably the most fanboyesque defense I've ever seen. And on a forum for anime.

Meh. I think everyone here is (or shoudl be) accustomed enough to American pillows album reviews to take them all with a grain of salt. Yeah, it's all his opinion.

Yeah, reviewers should really be tippytoeing when it comes to reviewing japanese albums... you really have to know what you are talking about from both cultures, and from the genres and eras that the music stems from... or else you end up sounding like a moron.

It's highly aggravating when they go all holier-than-thou when they have no place being there.

This review in particular though, it reminds me of like a little kid who didn't like his breakfast cereal, and so he's decided to throw a tantrum, spitting and flinging it all over the place.

Densha...I think more people need to see that series...the problem with anime related reviews is that you get these people that look at everything through the lens of anime, yeah I loved FLCL, but pillows music is so far beyond that I don't think they need that association, I kinda of felt bad for Yamanaka that he feels the need to mention it at shows, his music speaks for itself/stands on its own.

Well, yeah, but he likes FLCL, doesn't he? Even though he thought it was weird (it is). But I always got the impression that he liked it. And it really is the whole reason that the pillows are known to the extent that they are outside of Japan, so I think he's happy about it. I'll be honest and say that it's how I was introduced to the pillows. Actually, my brother downloaded a bunch of the songs from FLCL, as he had seen it, and I loved them. So I looked for more. Of course, he's one of the people who pretty much only likes their music that was in FLCL, but that's only because he's too close-minded to really listen to any of their other music. (He asked about the sig I have now, and I said Swanky Street; he listened to it and said, "This is actually pretty good." Also, he loves the song MY FOOT. I'm quite sure that if he gave the other stuff a chance, along with everyone else who is like this, he would like it.) It is kinda weird when Sawao says, "Do you like FLCL!?!" before playing Ride on shooting star, though . . .

I think the pillows created ROSS and I Think I Can for FLCL. Or am I going to be beaten for my lack of knowledge by the more educated forum members?

Kozumou, your comment on ANN: "the pillows suck except for the stuff in FLCL."

That post wasn't on Instant Music, it was on ANN. The sarcasm doesn't really carry over.

If you are, then so am I. I was under that impression as well.

And though I agree with the idea of separating them from FLCL in people's minds as much as possible, if there is any song that'll be associated with the show it'll be that one.
