 How the hell do they come out with so many albums? How the hell do they nearly pull out an album nearly every year? Is it apart of their contract with thier record label that allows them to do it? It's amazing they put out albums like its a breeze.

Sawao and the others have a musical mind. They can make any simple chord progression such as G, C, and D and make it a one hit wonder.

It's actually...incredibly normal. You just don't see it nowadays (whereas in past decades it was merely a common practice), I think, because the music industry doesn't want any "supergroups." I mean, when was the last time you saw a band like Led Zeppelin, or Queen, or the Beatles? Bands are much more transitory these days - they release a few albums and that's the last you'll ever hear from them. I think this is so because if a band becomes too popular, it becomes more difficult for record labels to gouge profits from them. I'm sure there are many other theories, but it really comes down to the fact that bands just don't have the longevity that they used to. And that the record industry sucks.

I think they are asking about the possible difference between Japanese labels/bands and American labels/bands.

Let's face it: for the most part American music sucks. Even the Aussies are doing better than us.
the pillows can come out with one album a year because Sawao has that kind of brain power. Not only can he come up with stuff for the pillows; but also his solo projects. The same goes for Manabe, Sato, and Jun.
