At the Knitting Factory show last year, someone yelled out a request for Swanky Street and they played it.
Are you sure it was per his request? It could possibly just have been somewhere on their setlist...if it really played the song by his request - thats sweet.

awesome about the swanky street one
i hate how the american dvd tour cut swanky street off right at the solo
they have played smile live before i believe. the same concert as BOTP, but they cut it off
if you watch the intro to botp, you get a glance at the set list, i saw smile on it right before wake up frenzy i believe (i have to reference back to it)
kanojo wa kyou, beautiful picture: also a few of my choices i would liek to see live
and naked shuffle

Jun can only play rock. That's probably why Tatsuya left. They wanted too much rock and he liked Jazz/Pop better.

Does anyone know if there will be merchandise available or if there's any chance of seeing the band afterwards for autographs or whatnot?

Is that normal? If it is...I'm all for it - except the only problem I can see is their lack of fluency in English. If they had a signing booth, it would be much more automated and not conversation-oriented. Still, I'd really like to meet them. Maybe someone can play translator! Ha.
And cameras - are we allowed to take pictures?

When I witnessed the sexyness of noodles live, after the performance, the girls were just kicking back in the crowd. They had things to sell. But no shirts. I got their John Handcocks (hrrrrrrrr) with no formal signing booth. The signing booth thing happened only at ACEN, cuz they were being formally sponsored by Geneon. :/

I am pretty sure that Swanky Street was played at a few other venues on their last tour, but someone else probably knows for sure. I don't think it was just in response to the request though, but it's not impossible.
A bunch of people wouldn't stop screaming FUNNY BUNNY, and they played the first ten seconds or so just for fun. Not much, but it was still funny to see.

Dude, simma down now, simma down. I doubt they would play one show on June 26th in NY and then go all the way to hollywood for a gig the next day. Anyway, that link has always been that way but when I called ticket web, they said both shows were in NY. Sorry.

I realize it could have been already on the setlist, but considering their reaction it seemed like it was spur of the moment. Especially since most of their set list consisted of FLCL songs. *shrugs* Maybe they will, maybe they won't.
As for meeting the band, I know Sawao was chilling on the balcony level at some point that night, as a friend of a friend had a picture taken with him up there.
