Most would agree that they are easily the best songs on Pantomime. Especially Razorlike Blue.
Stand up and go is godlike

You sonofabitch :[

How can people convince themselves that Good Dreams is better than Moon Gold?

I think Good Dreams is retarded. It’s the kind of soulless crap that was ubiquitous on American fm radio when I was in school. Any of the albums with Ueda are easily better than any of the post smile ones. I think people are just gravitating towards the generic alt-rock sound of the later stuff because it's familiar. :p

Pretty much all of pantomime is perfect I don't think I could pick a "best" song.

Eh, I think TYMT is kinda the beginning of the end. "Poem of Babylon Angel", "Come on Ghost" and "Irene" are interesting songs, but otherwise I think it's a lot of forgettable tracks with some half-hearted experimentation Sawao sprinkled in to throw listeners off his trail for another album.

For a change, I agree completely with Jomei.

Only 7 posts in an I'm beginning to develop a grudge.
1. Sono Mirai wa Ima is absolutely fantastic. I don't think anyone on IM has yet challenged its status as a purely orgasmic thrill ride.
2. Walkin' on the Spiral. Same deal. Golden.
3. Good Dreams - you can't really call this soulless. at all. Underrated, too.
4. Frontiers - barely anyone gives this credit. Everyone needs to listen to this song again, right now. Pay attention to the solo.
5. Rosy Head / XAVIER - Filler, albeit quality filler.

Yes, as an album, Good Dreams is easily viewed as mediocre...but I have no idea how people can describe it as some horrific mess of bland pop rock. Definitely has more killer songs than Penalty Life. Honestly, would you rather listen to Sono Mirai, Spiral, Good Dreams, Frontiers, and XAVIER for the rest of your life, or Ami ni Utaeba, Dear My First Step, Hello Girl, Sayonara Tansai Wakusei, and I Need Somebody?

Oh, and Shiroi and TMYT are NOT "forgettable and half-hearted".

1. Sono Mirai wa Ima = Last Dinosaur, pt. deux. Incredibly boring retread.
2. Walkin' on the Spiral. Yeah, I agree. Awesome.
3. Good Dreams - one of the better tracks on the album, but it doesn't exactly stack up to any of their other work.
4. Frontiers - nice melody, but the most soulless delivery ever.
5. Rosy Head / XAVIER - Filler.

O fuk! :O

Seriously, I am going to echo Atomsk Iscariot and say that it's an album with too much filler. I also agree that it retreads too many already stale musical themes. The electronic bleeps aren't a significant innovation. They are too decorative and superfluous to really distract me from the fact that it's a thin album overall.

I never said TYMT twilight was pop rock either :p

As for good dreams, it's practically all filler. The one or two songs that are worth listening to still sound comparitively flat and boring. I also think Sawao's vocal are crappy. Not different or changed. Just crappy.

I can't understand how good dreams is acceptable to you. I have to imagine that anybody with a relatively broad experience of music would find it to be worthless crap. I think people dig good dreams and hate on moon gold because they restrict themselves to alt/indie rock and punk. You have to have a pretty shallow appreciation of music to be satisfied with something like good dreams. Call me an elitist, but why bother listening to crap when there is so much accessible, good music?

I mean, you don't even have to go outside the pillows discography to find stuff miles ahead of good dreams.

EDIT: Alero you bastard! >:[

... wait... what?

I wasn't talking about TYMT, which used to be my favorite Pillows album of all time and is now near #4 or thereabouts and which also contains my favorite Pillows song of all time (unchangeable), "Shiroi Natsu."

I was talking about Good Dreams.

Or your post just confused me in general.

Well that's just misleading.

Besides, TYMT is GOD, man.
