Arist: Hiromitsu Agatsuma
Album: Beams
Song: Blown Away

He's this dude who's basically mastered the traditional Japanese Shamisen. He puts it together with sweet taiko drums, pianos, techno beats, some jazz elements...really diverse stuff.

Go to the sample here: http://www.domo.com/sound/Agatsuma/Blown_Away.mp3

It starts at the bridge, so it sounds kind of lame...but at the middle, he goes back into the song's main riff, which is just completely killer, then rolls into an amazing solo.

AGATSUMA = Yngwie + Shamisen? YES

Diana Krall - The Girl In the Other Room.

She's a babe, she's a great pianist, has a good voice that radiates attitude, and her band swings hard. What's not to like?

Just downloaded Nino Trinca's "Nino Trinca" from tehz. Pretty interesting stuff.

...Can anyone give me a little bit of information on these guys?

Nino Trinca - Ancora! Subito (I'm really listening to this right now ^_^).

From what I read on the Nino Trinca website (lolmachinetranslationslawlz), Nino Trinca seems to have been around since about 1993/94. Right around the time Kashima went to fap the bass with the pillows. Obviously, Kashima left in 1999 and he went back to work with NT (unless he was already working with them. I don't think he was an original member). As you may already know, they have released 2 albums, the latter being superior to the former (but I love the first one anyway). There's reason to believe that the pianist is either a brother or cousin to Kenji Ueda because his name is Tadashi Ueda. Afterall, the band is on Bumblebee Records, a label with Kenji started. But who knows. I sure hope they release another album. Another Beris Beris that is.

Also of note, Kashima, along with CHACO, Nino Trinca's drummer and Tadashi Ueda have formed a side band between each other called Epoch. I have yet to find anything from them in the Japanese online shops.

Yeah, I found this out while rummaging through Kashima's site. Damn, he looks old nowadays.
