Tegan & Sara's new album is hella good, pop hooks all over the goddamn place. Great choruses, example:

You could always check out The Breeders: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUiP5eyx3NM

You know. I' purchased a tegan and sara album "SO Jealous" And I wasn't that impressed with it. I'll admit though. This new album sounds better than what I listened to. I may have to snatch this one to try it out

And who isn't a fan of the breeders? :shred: :shred: :shred: :shred: :shred: :shred: :shred: :shred: :shred: :shred:

I'm in love with Bonnie Pink. Her stuff from the mid to late 90's, in particular, is God-tier, IMO. I've been listening to her for years, but just can't seem to get enough lately.

Dude, get the fuck out! Here's my story with Bonnie Pink: Was listening to Japan-a-Radio online YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS AGO. Found a few cool tracks by Bonnie Pink, downloaded them. Fast-forward a few years in the future, I'm on vacation in Tokyo with my dad. I see Bonnie Pink's best-of album "Bonnie's Kitchen," and that's the first album I buy in Japan. I have *very* strong memories about listening to that album (on a CD player!) around the city. I listened to that album so much, but I actually don't have any of her other music..

Her more mellow songs really give me a rainy day, or Dido vibe. Songs like Kingyo that you linked, or Senaka, or Lie Lie Lie:

omfg Oragnge is great too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ocebn30FMU

Ha, that's awesome. Bonnie's Kitchen 1+2 are both very solid comps. Senaka was actually the first song of hers I heard. I was hooked after that. A few years back I DL'd most of her discography and have lazily listened to it off and on. Thinking I need to give the whole discography a more thorough listen, because there seem to be a lot of gems I didn't appreciate early on.

Look up "Let's Kiss and Make Up", "You are Blue, So am I" and "Last Kiss". Excellent. I dig her older stuff, but even some of her more recent stuff is good. She did a song with M-Flo a few years back called "Love Song" which is great.

Such a killer voice and an interesting style. Watching her old PVs gives me feels. It would have been cool to grow up in Japan in the 90's, listening to artists like the pillows, Bonnie Pink and others during their prime. Man. What I wouldn't give to have experienced that scene first-hand. Anyone else feel the same?

Speak of the frickin devil, I was just listening to this. Boogiepop had some great music - this OP is so different, but so great. Love Yuudachi. Do you know if Suga Shikao's got some albums worth listening to? I know he's prolific, I just dont know where to start.

IMO his work is all over the place in terms of quality. If I were you I'd start out with some of his greatest hits-type albums. They'll give you a taste of his various styles over the years. Yuudachi is GOD tier, though. Awesome song. Some others of his I personally enjoy:

I've been listening to this song constantly since I found it. I can't seem to get enough. It's so sweet-sounding~

I love 'Closer', and 'Now I'm all messed up' (especially the 'go if you want to'/'stay' bit). I hadn't really checked them out before until I saw people complaining how different the new album was from their previous work, and for some reason that interested me.

fwow, I didn't know The Pixies had new songs. (The 4-track EP they released in September)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWkD_-diYuI (What Goes Boom)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDa3cY7U6NA (Indie Cindy)

I only read negative reviews so far, but frankly, I like these two songs. Haven't listened to the other 2 tracks yet.

New Tokyo Police Club single after I think like 2 or 3 years, album on the way.

I'm in love. :shred:

It's so different than their old stuff, a lot more poppy, but still so good.
