i took that picture before cleaning my desk just because i was shocked at how dirty it got. i'd like to see a worse desk. =P

If I had a digital camera, I seriously could give you proof of that. Your room is tidy compared to how mine usually is.
And it never gets cleaned because I get shocked at how dirty it gets. When I run out of places to put stuff, I put it on top of other stuff. It's like a tiny little city of assorted junk built on the ruins of its predecessor.

i clean my room once a month. it consists of throwing away all the junk mail on top of my dresser.

My room is really small, and it doesn't really get dirty for some reason. I can fit a bed, 2 dressers, and a little bit of walking space. Sometimes that walking space is drowned in clothes, that's the dirtiest it gets.

i differentiate between clutter and mess (for lack of a better word). clutter = lots of stuff all over the place. mess = dirty dishes, food growing friends in the corner, dead bugs, and other assorted nastiness.
in summary: clutter is okay. mess is not. which do you actually have?

Wanna know something cool? I have a room but never use it. My room is spotless all the time cause I live in my families living room. It's pretty sweet. A couple of steps to the kitchen, a couple of steps to the bathroom, it's all awesome. However, the computer desk is so "cluttered". Anything you can imagine is or has probably been on this desk.
