As for myself, I saw discovolante post one of Men at Work's songs earlier, so I'm listening to this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lcu7OCIqlqE'80s pop rock had this creepiness going, as if the lead singers of all these bands were mentally deranged, prowling the street at night for drugs and hookers (maybe they were?). I always think of the Police's Every Breath You Take and how lulzy it is when people play it at weddings, considering the stalkerish subject matter.

I like it well enough, but nothing's come out and really wowed me. It's sad, but I think the pillows have spoiled me. I want to experience another One Life.

They were my favorite band throughout two or three years in high school. Sometimes it just takes one song; I recommend Tsuki to Koura （月と甲羅）...that's what did it for me, anyway. And yeah like Jomei posted, I've been digging on almost nothing but 80's pop for exactly the qualities described. It's incredibly sleazy, probably just a reflection of the times, but still more insightful and at times soulful than other eras of pop music. I know I'm generalizing, but...
