 Nintendo 3DS
For those unaware, the 3DS will have the capability to use physical "Virtual Reality" cards to impose mini-games into the user's physical environment. The future of gaming is here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YWJYvQeDBk

 Re: Nintendo 3DS
Not sure if I'll have the money at launch but I've been totally excited for this thing ever since it was announced. I know for sure Bam Bam will get it at launch and bring it to work, so stoked!

Invizimals psp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbTJw_2E-WwEyepet psp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPENA1Bpm68That has been done before. The 3d effect thing on games looks silly to me. My brother really wants one though.

 Re: Nintendo 3DS
If the 3DS has cool games, great; maybe I'll get one someday. But if it's like the Wii and markets itself heavily based on this (IMO, gimmicky) new technology, then it's one less system I have to worry about.
I love my DS, but it's pretty telling that my favorite games for it don't use the whole "touch" aspect of the system at all. Guess I'm just hopelessly old-school.

I basically agree with Thinline. I'll get one perhaps when prices fall and there are enticing titles available.

 Re: Nintendo 3DS
Augmented Reality technology is fantastic. It's interesting to see it being implemented on the 3Ds, I have been watching the development of AR devices on Make for some time.

Yeah, I won't be racing out to get one either... my DSi has a lot of mileage in it still.

 Re: Nintendo 3DS
Pretty accurate. Black and White have enhanced content on the 3DS, but it will probably be a 3DS-exclusive Pokemon game that forces my hand.

 Re: Nintendo 3DS
What discorauged me to get a 3DS right away is the battery life thing. 3-5 hours only? C'mon Nintendo, you can do better than that. And they will do... just wait for a 3DS Lite/3DSi/3DSi XL (whatever) release in the future, lol.
The AR cards looks promising. If the developers are smart enough to make interesting stuff out of it, Nintendo can be again at the top of the "revolution gaming" hill.
Am I the only one who wants badly the portable versions of TLoZ: Ocarina of Time and Starfox 64? BTW, Kid Icarus: Uprising looks pretty cool, too.

 Re: Nintendo 3DS
I'm... sort of excited for this thing. The fact that they've created a new game card type that is incompatible with my current DS Lite doesn't thrill me, but it was bound to happen eventually. The Ocarina re-release is pretty cool too, but I have that on Virtual Console, so I won't be getting that.

Yep, me too, in fact, most of the games I play on mine anymore are RPGs, and I make every effort when I'm playing those to only use the buttons, as if I was still using my Game Boy Advance.

 Re: Nintendo 3DS
I honestly never liked the Nintendo DS and the touch scren. I always found it too gimmicky. I can't take it seriously, mainly because the games on that thing aren't really that great. The yugioh games were pretty awesome. Though there are some out for the psp I hate having to play then switching to stylus. I'm a lefty and it's hard for me to grab the stylus with my left hand then putting it back or using the stylus + the D pad. I never got use to it. The games on it weren't really that great either. A couple RPG's but that was pretty much it. I haven't gotten many DS games though. So I shouldn't talk The 3DS looks the same, gimmicky. I'm not really a big wii fan. The last game I played for it was that tatsunoko vs capcom game. The controls were just so simple I couldn't take it seriously. The game before that was Epic Mickey. I enjoy it, but it's so repetitive.

 Re: Nintendo 3DS
Excited for:
Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D Resident Evil Revelations Starfox 64 remake
Imagine Bomberman with 3d explosions for the bombs, that could be pretty cool (or sensory overload lol)

 Re: Nintendo 3DS
I always try to be an early adapter ever since the PSP came out. The older models always have the most "capabilities." But yeah, I have a 3DS preordered, with my eyes set firmly on the remake of Ocarina of Time (which also comes with the Master Quest version.) And the promise of new Pokemans. BTW, to Metal: The PSP augmented reality games require the camera addon, which no one has. That's why it didn't take off on the system, nor did it take off on the PS3. But with the 3DS, any developer can include augmented reality bits in their games because of the three built-in cameras.

(Just kidding; expect an NGP post soon.)
