I always thought of Good Dreams as amazing tier pillows. I couldn't help but notice you didn't list Tenshi Mitai Ni Kimi Wa Tatte Ta as a really great song. It's the best song on the album! If I had to do a top three list with a gun pointed at my head, that song would most likely weasel it's way on there with Funny Bunny and Patricia.
Put me in this category. Tenshi Mitai ni Kimi wa Tatte has always been one of my favorite songs... dude that solo! Manabe tears shit up in that song.

Good Dreams is one of their best album. It's my third on my list. It's insanely good.
Damn I don't see why everyone trashes on Good Dreams so much. Good Dreams, Sono Mirai, Walkin' on the Spiral, Frontiers, and XAVIER are all really great songs. Like, great songs. Better than anything on Horn Again (not bein a hater). Okay, so the album is pretty uneven. The rest of the tracks are pretty mediocre. But I truly see Good Dreams and Sono Mirai wa Ima as a few of the last truly great pillows songs. Like, no-reservations-at-all.
Oh trust me, I'm not trashing Good Dreams. I know it being 12 out of 17 looks bad, but it's really not. PL and GD would often switch places for me. My list could still change though, once the hype from the new album dies down perhaps. My Foot was really that last AMAZING-CREAM-YOUR-PANTS album for me. I seriously have a love affair with that album.

Since I first listened to Kool Spice long time ago, I just can't stop to listen to that album. It's the best 7 tracks that a album could have.

I would really put this up in the Pied Piper status rather than Good Dreams.

Haha, since Good Dreams-Pied Piper has such a wide spectrum of love/hate, it's making a pretty moot point stating your opinion of where Horn Again stands. It seems Horn Again might fit this same bill. It's level of awesome is going to be pretty mixed among us as fans. The only thing I think we can universally agree on is that it is a lot better than Ooparts. Any dissensions with that? Especially Good Dreams, some people love that album to death, while others find it mundane and uninspired. I'm with Goldenrhino. Good Dreams and My Foot are the last albums that have multiple hits on them, for me. With Good Dreams, it's apparent. My Foot has the title track ( ) and The Third Eye. For Horn Again, I'd say Nobody Knows what Blooms is the hit for me. I really enjoyed that one. I'm with everyone else; where the hell did that one come from?

Yeah. Well, I have to hear Horn Again some more. But I'm reviewing OOPARTS this very moment. And it isn't a lot weaker then Horn Again imo. (I'll post it soon)

Ooparts was not even remotely as good as Horn Again. It was passible but that's not saying much, and the only people who would like it are exsisting fans of The Pillows, it's not going to garner any new listeners.
I can reccomend something from Horn Again without having to make excuses for The Pillows, it's the best album in awhile.

I have my doubts about "the only people who would like it ar existing fans". I actually, accidently made a friend of mine listen to it a bit. And he said he liked it.
Also, I don't listen to the pillows songs because I want to garner any new listeners. I don't care about that anymore.
Ooparts was not even remotely as good as Horn Again.
Well, I'm glad you think that way. And it seems to be the consensus here at IM, except for me. But what annoys me a bit is that you present it as a fact. It isn't.
I can't really understand why you all like "NKWB" so much. I don't like that falsetto. I like Movement. Brilliant Crown will be a grower for me. I can't say much else about the album, It doesn't really move me. Then again, I've listened to much to the pillows lately. I think it will take some time to grow on me.

Haters of Lily, my sun need to pay more attention to the interplay between Sawao's vox and Manabe's guitar. Seriously, this whole album is full of genius.

Re: [2011.1.24] HORN, AGAIN - New album
I'm sorry, but musically, most of the musical composition on Ooparts seems like it was done by a 5-year old to me. Just going from all the vocal lines, guitar parts and sometimes the bass parts, I can barely appreciate anything about it. The songwriting is pretty cool, and there are definitely some cool songs on there... but yeah. Weakest pillows album for me.
Horn Again brings back an appreciation of music composition, and there are a few good vocal lines (though the choruses don't hit me very hard for the most part... and I think that's the big takeaway here). I really do think that Horn Again is just... better than Ooparts in just about every way imaginable, except that in music, all boils down ultimately to preference.
Mare, I've yet to get new headphones. In my car, I can still barely hear Manabe's lead lines. But I can hear some interplay between the vocal line and the lead line at times... I've listened hard enough for now. I'll try to listen to it in higher quality and see what's up.
As for why Nobody Knows what Blooms is awesome, it's hardly the falsetto in the chorus. It's the variation and overall composition from a musical standpoint that impresses me. The falsetto is alright I guess, but the song meshes together so well, and it manages to sound new; at least in the context of sounds we've heard from the pillows.
I can't stop listening to Nobody Knows What Blooms. So good..
I think this song is slightly entering my top-10 pillows songs. It's incredibly good. This whole album it's incredibly good. Guess that anybody was expecting that this album would be this good. The band deserves a congratulations. Awesome results. Can't wait to hear it live!

It would be cool if someone could upload the scans... or the lyrics, whatever is easier
