[2.16.2011] (DVD) BORN IN THE 60S
So they're releasing a DVD of the Born in the 60s Tour. So it includes performances by the pillows, THE COLLECTORS, Dohatsuten, The Pees, and TOMOVSKY. And also has "backstage" footage.

Can anyone tell me what this is and if that tour has anything to do with it? http://www.amazon.co.jp/Collectors-best ... B001ELTXRKIf you click on the image I think there is a statement at the bottom from Sawao but I have no idea what this is.

A best of for the Collectors with the songs picked by Sawao.

What Mare said (he beat me to it!). The product description says something like they're the songs that changed/influenced Sawao's life. It was released in 2008, so afaik it's not related.

I don't see why. They might have been born in the 60's but they didn't record anything untill the 90's.

one can dream. you know, since they're all really long-standing bands... kind of celebrate the breadth of their work..? remember the good ol' days, starting out. i don't see why it's not a possibility...
i don't see why it's not a possibility...
Because they haven't played anything before Please Mr. Lostman in 15 years? Even at their 20th Anniversary.

Re: [2.16.2011] (DVD) BORN IN THE 60S
they played 90's my life and boku wa kakera at the anniversary... (and lesser hamster no yūutsu during blue song with blue poppies) (and daydream wonder during Lostman Go to Yesterday) anyway i didn't mean THAT old, even back to PML would be great. if just a few songs. of course i still think it's POSSIBLE they could play even older stuff... they played major hits at the anniversary... sure all us die-hard fans would have liked to see something else, but they were playing for a much wider audience. i'm sorry but do you have an in-depth record of what they play at much smaller shows, at smaller venues?
there's no need to be a downer about it.

I'm a downer because i'm stating the obvious? Granted, they did play those songs from 90's My Life which I had forgotten about, I don't see them breaking out anything like that for this DVD.

Re: [2.16.2011] (DVD) BORN IN THE 60S
*edited last post with more older songs* they have in fact been playing a few old songs over the span of the last couple of DVDs hell we got NO SUBSTANCE in parts of ooparts
so i think you might want to reconsider this "stating the obvious" thing...

Nothing to reconsider. My original post might have been an exaggeration, but a couple songs from a few sets dosen't show a consistent pattern. Obviously I don't know about every single show and set they've ever played it, since they play at tons of small clubs. That's still no reason to think that because the DVD is called "Born in the 60's" we're going to see anything early on it, espically considering The Pillows are just one of several artists featured on it.

Re: [2.16.2011] (DVD) BORN IN THE 60S
i guess i just feel like there's no need to treat it like there's 0% chance of even one song being older or less-played than others. i would even be happy with something like frontiers or mighty lovers. throw me a bone here. i'm still looking forward to the dvd regardless of any predictions made here.

Cool down kids, I'm sure they'll have some golden oldies in this DVD. I mean what else would they play with that sort of title?

Re: [2.16.2011] (DVD) BORN IN THE 60S
Judging from a setlist I from this tour, they aren't playing anything older than PML. They threw in a couple old b-sides like Ninny, but yeah... not much else there. Hm... that setlist:
◆the pillows
01.プロポーズ
02.Mr.Droopy
03.Degeneration
04.I know you
05.Ladybird girl
06.Movement(新曲)
07.Ninny
08.Please Mr.Lostman
09.その未来は今
10.No Surrender
En.
01.Primer Beat
02.LITTLE BUSTERS(全員で)
