 It's that time of year Summer. That means concerts, festivals, tours, ect.
I'm personally excited about the Chicago Blues Festival. Big names include Hubert Sumlin, Buddy Guy, John Mayall, and Pine Top Perkins.
What else is happening this year?

I just saw the Fiery Furnaces yesterday. I think it was one of, if not the best concert I've ever seen. They all had such amazing stage presence. Also, all of the songs they played were so different from the versions on their albums that they were almost unrecognizable. Another thing that made me happy was that (in contrast to almost every other indie rock band in existence) they completely rocked the fuck out. I’d love to find a live bootleg of them somewhere.
Over the summer I’m looking forward to seeing Of Montreal and Deerhoof. I’m going to Belgium and the Netherlands in June. While I’m there I’m going to try to see some awesome Belgian bands (Ghinzu and Girls in Hawaii in particular) and Devendra Banhart in Amsterdam.

I read that the pixies are doing a ten-stop tour or something along those lines.

I'm gonna be hanging around with my friends and going to the pool and down the shore alot. Fun huh, beats the hell out of your concert idea.

Good choice.
Anyway, I want to go to some concert, any concert. All of this hype about the Pillows' concerts makes me want to go to one-- badly.

I'm seeing Tony Bennett in June. He's the last voice of his genre; so I wanted to see him before he, um...you know.
Also, I hope to see Puffy AmiYumi when they tour on the east coast in August. And I hope System of a Down comes around too. I'm really enjoying their new stuff; and I so want to see Serji on the pogo stick.

i just missed of montreal...they played in a college coffeehouse open to only students. however the tour momentarily split. tilly and the wall came to another coffeehouse and i decided to go to that. they're fun...i had fun.
oh right, the violent femmes were also playing across the street...another 'student only' ordeal.
