Re: Shin-chan
Sato is quite possibly the most musically talented member of the pillows, and that’s really saying something, given the band’s performance on Kool Spice (as well as all their other albums).
source: http://www.musicianforums.com/album.php?reviewid=8780*ahem*, like really?
anyone who has had the good fortune to have heard this album will know one thing: it’s undeniably cool. Much like the pillows themselves. Make sure that it isn’t your first experience with the band, but also make sure to give it a listen sometime. After all, you want to be undeniably cool, don‘t you?

Like yeah. I don't know if I'd call him the most musically talented pillows member (I think Kashima would be the more likely candidate), but Shin has got some serious drumming chops. I mean, just listen to Koi no SUPAI ni Ki wo Tsukero. Or The Killing Field. Hell, I could name a whole bunch of other early songs that showcase his talent. Don't let his recent drumming fool you. EDIT:
Still, [Kashima's] bass work is more than competent enough to carry the pillows trio of founders to music-induced ecstasy on Kool Spice. It’s just a tad unfortunate that he couldn’t seem to muster the will to do anything amazing.
WTF. Okay, never mind, the guy who wrote that review is officially a moron.

On the abandoned topic of Something Else http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/s/Something+Else/2Dz7lmI had talked to Keitaro a while back ago and he was sure it was a Zeppelin song, I was really doubtful, but I found this a few days ago.

Re: Shin-chan
You know, Shin’s playing on Lorelai might be one of my favorite Shin performances ever. Especially during the solo (which, tbh, is one of my favorite Manabe solos ever too: right up there with Swanky Street): his drumming is basically comping Manabe’s guitar playing. All of the fills and articulations feel really complementary and fitting. Plus his drumming for the verse and chorus groove super well, too. Definitely up there with his drumming on Love Spies, in my opinion.
