The original has more ambience and I like the way the drums are kept more on the background.
I think there is too much emphasis on the voice, it's a bit too loud.
If you use the Center Cut Plugin voor Winamp, and do "Center Cut - Sides (Bass to Sides)
you get yet another version, all trippy and drowzee ^ ^ with the voice more on the background.
Playing this late in the evening, maybe with some pot, wil strengthen this effect.
Like so many songs of them, I've got now idea what they're acutally singing,
so I just give it my own feel to it. Kinda soothing and calming, hypnotic and mesmerizing (especially with centercut on) not really laid back, but more spacey ?

But now that I've taken a look at the lyrics, I can also turn the ambience in a kinda sad/lonely romance one.
Turn Back version: kinda big of transformation of Sawao's voice.
I like his voice more, but it has lost something of it's innocence, and it fit's the song less.
Though I like the alternative ending with his voice.
Blue Songs with Blue Poppies version: (starting from 1:04) I don't know, it should be a nice performance, but it doesn't grab me. Well, that is to say not untill in the last "two parts" of the lyrics, there it gets more intense. . . sort of climax. I Like the way he brings "ieru no ka"
"Even though we look at the same thing
I see something different than everyone else
Something different" - Sawao
