Post Re: [2007.11.14] LOSTMAN GO TO YESTERDAY
I KNOW the mods are going to be very angry that I pushed this topic back on the top, but something dawned on me.

I'm sure we all remember how in January that once the pied piper tour dvd's released, they were quickly made into an .ISO format and uploaded to the internet so that the IM community could feast in its glory and wonder.

I started to think back to the other dvd's released by the pillows and recalled that one dvd did come with the LGTY box set.

I personally would LOVE to watch the pillows' music videos on my hdtv as opposed to the cruddy quality of youtube

So this is a shout out to anyone who owns the LGTY box set; would you be willing to upload an .iso of the dvd for the IM community?

Again, sorry for pushing this to the top, please don't get too angry.
If you agree that an .iso of this dvd or any other past dvd should be posted, show your support and post a comment.
also, for those who say that I should go buy it...the box set is out of production and is much harder to find nowadays.

Who cares about the mods?
Cool kids don't care about the mods 8)

Yeah, someone should upload this, if anyone HAS the boxset.

I really don't think the mods will care about a DVD upload. We do that all the time.

And yes, I would really like that DVD. Some guy on soulseek had it, but he stopped coming on half way through my download.

If I had a better lifestyle and money to blow on things like buying CD's and DVD's of bands I like, I'd totally rip and share. But I don't, so I'm a pirate.

Sorry guys. :(

Post Re: [2007.11.14] LOSTMAN GO TO YESTERDAY
beggers cant be choosers right?

but if you're giving me the choice, I would prefer the full ISO, so that I can burn it to a dvd and watch it in full spec on my HDTV.

If you do mp4, it will be a lot easier on you, but the quality will go down due to compression...I think the PS3 can upscale most video formats anyway.

ultimately you are the one doing the uploading, and the format choice is under your jurisdiction.

Regardless of what file type you upload, the IM community and I will be very grateful.

Thanks.

I'm ripping it now into MP4 with the H.264 (x264) codec and the quality should be rather good. I've used the programs before using different dvds and have done side by side tests while the video running and the quality is comparable. It's ripping at it's full resolution of 720 x 480 at the highest quality the program allows so it should look pretty darn good on your HDTV. I'll hopefully have a link up by tomorrow morning at the earliest or by thursday at the latest.

Update #1: I'm having trouble ripping it with my usual program due to region issues. Everything comes up choppy and the video is distorted. I'm going to try ripping the iso and then turning it into an mp4 file. This will probably take longer than mentioned earlier, but I should have it up by friday in either or both iso and mp4 form.

Alright, I finally got the ripping working correctly and the MP4 should be coming by the end of the day. Unfortunately I didn't get an ISO or any kind of simular file when I initially ripped the dvd and instead got a Video_ts folder which I don't think would be much help unless you wanted the raw .vob files.

ACTUALLY...

programs like imgburn (its free!) can detect, decode, and burn those vob's no problem!

I'm pretty sure.

I'm on OSX so my options are rather limited. I'm doing a lossless compression to mp4 right now that has been running for 20 hours and has 10 to go, so hopefully that will come out stellar. The VOB files are about 5.6GBs together, and I'm not really sure where I could host them or give you guys the files. Any recommendations would be great.
