Re: RPGs
Hai guis I just beat the ORIGINAL Final Fantasy 3. Final Fantasy 3 was a really, really cool game. It took the best elements of the first two Final Fantasies and improved on them greatly. For the first time, you could buy items in bulk, and you could choose a class for your character, developing them however you liked. For the first time, you could also summon, introducing such lovable characters as Titan, Ramuh, Odin, Shiva, and Bahamut. My only gripe with the Job system was that no matter what you did, when you switched into a new job, you automatically gained that job's status points, so there was little point in having designated fighters and mages throughout the game. The only stat that carried over was HP. The story revolves around (what else!) crystals losing their power, so you have to go fix them. Interestingly enough, in FFIII, many people reference a time when Light was overflooding the world, so the Dark Warriors had come 1,000 years ago to stop it from turning the world into the void. You play the role of four adopted quadruplets who are exploring a cave after an earthquake, where you stumble upon the wind crystal, whose light is fading away. The wind crystal chooses the four youths to be the LIGHT WARRIORS who are tasked with returning light to the world and preventing it being turned into the void. ^At the end of the game, where the dark warriors appear to help you defeat the final boss. The story was pretty direct and linear, but it works very well. No real surprise WTF new antagonist moments, and this game is very advanced for only being on the famicom. I'm really surprised they were able to dump that much memory into it. It is challenging in all the right places, and if you play intelligently, you shouldn't have too much trouble. If you want to play a really good old game, I would definitely suggest giving Final Fantasy III a whirl. I give it a 9/10.

Re: RPGs
magic of scherezade for nes is pretty amazing.
ff2 is great, if not only for being star wars in final fantasy form.

Re: RPGs
KH:ReCOM was really great. I hated the card battle system in the beginning but got the hang out of it later on and then it wasn't so bad. The story is so great! I beat it awhile ago and started Riku's side story, but haven't got to it lately. Sigh... Great game

Re: RPGs
So, a part in Simon & Garfunkel's "Bookends" sounds exactly like a verse in Flowers Blooming in the Church in FFVII, which is a pretty funny coincidence since Flowers Blooming in the Church was supposed to be a variation on Aerith's theme.

Re: RPGs
I really REALLY been getting the urge to play FF9 again. I hate playing through RPG's again because you already know what's going to happen. Though I haven't played the game since 2000. 8 years ago, I tried playing kingdom hearts again but once is enough for me. I tried to replay it, it just doesn't seem that cool after the second time of playing it.
