Pantomime going rate?
Curious, since I know it's out of print and a copy's been floating around at Shirokiya for like $22. I didn't feel much compulsion to snag it on sight, being that my collection of actual pillows CDs is admittedly on the low end (that is to say, I'd rather pick up a number of other albums first, unless I'm being oblivious to a find that's rarer than I believe it to be).

It's certainly a lot rarer now that it's out of print. I don't know what the average price for something like that would be, though.

Re: Pantomime going rate?
I usually see it selling for 50 plus, sometimes around 70.

Re: Pantomime going rate?
I gave up on obtaining the physical copies of Pantomime and 90's My Life a while ago. Whenever I did find them, they were pretty rediculous. I'm all about the pillows and having everything by them, but 60 bucks for one CD is kinda rediculous IMO.

That so? Shirokiya's CDs are used, but typically all in really good condition (though, as we're talking about Pantomime, it's not as if you can exactly find a new copy anymore, anyway). I'd admittedly not much of a purist as far as their older material goes, but perhaps this (if they still have it next time I go) is an opportunity that I may not wanna pass up.

Not really, considering the CD went out of print a long time ago, and it's just people who happen to have who are selling it now-a-days. Even if they are only EPs, I can't say I'm surprised at how much they go for. If you saw Pantomime for $20, that's a STEAL. Buy it.

By point of reference, I saw bloodthirsty butchers' Lukewarm Wind going for one. thousand. dollars. on Yahoo!Auctions the other day. That old, rare, out-of-print Japanese stuff can get pretty pricey, pick it up!

Laws of the universe say that they totally won't have it anymore tomorrow, but we'll see.

Re: Pantomime going rate?
Well, I'm now the proud owner of a copy of Pantomime. A bit cheaper than I thought, too, was $20 even.
I really do need to buy some more pillows CDs. Hopefully I'm gonna be in Japan next fall and will be able to buy stuff at going rate without shipping/import markups.

Re: Pantomime going rate?
Most places don't do import markups...Japanese CDs are just expensive as fuck.

Re: Pantomime going rate?
Yeah. By import markups I really just meant physical retailers passing the shipping cost onto you. I'm well enough aware of the fact that Japanese CDs cost about $25-28 each. Still, better than $35-40, especially when you have the better part of a band's discography to buy (True, ordering a number at a time would just about mitigate the shipping, but spending $100 on CDs in one go is a lot easier when it comes to an in-your-hand impulse, as opposed to mulling around an order confirmation online).
But, I digress in order to lawl at the booklet back picture, which I'd never seen an image of and find much more "...early 90s" than even the cover. New first choice if I ever get a chance to have something signed, not only as a rare/first release collector's item, but also to make Sawao sign a picture of himself in (what I can now more clearly see as) such a fucking hideous green coat and bright red pants (Though I'm sure a couple people around here have already had Pantomime signed on previous US tours). On another note, though, I actually had no clue that Manabe was credited as just "PEE". What release did he start using his real name with?
